Anyone else think that their purchase model could seriously backfire if they get relegated? Buying has beens with huge wage demands? Seems lazy, and I though better of Hughes. Or are strings being pulled from elsewhere?

I'm glad Fernandes didn't come in for us- McNally and Lambert are a dream team.

In fairness I believe a number of the new players will be loans initially with the option to go permanent in the summer. If that is the case then it is not a bad idea given their current position.

true. i feel the qpr approach is a little questionable tho, purely in respect to how disposable players seem to be there. The championship side gets brushed aside by new 'premier' signings, and already those new guys are getting replaced by newer players. Seems a bit cold and heartless.

i've said for a while that its all going to go tits up at qpr and this transfer window is not changing my mind about it. if anything, it is strengthening it. absolutely no idea what plan they have or even if they have got one! utter madness, throwing massive wages at average footballers. djibril cisse? SERIOUSLY!!??

they are going to end up in an unbelievable mess. its disappointing that despite witnessing the mess that smaller clubs such as portsmouth get into by going down this route, qpr still think its appropriate. it is impossible for them to become a global brand and a massive club and it is all going to end in tears. its a sad case of affairs.

With TF running the show, and with him openly stating he want's 'big names' that is what is going to happen. He is basically ripping the soul out of the club and the players that served them so well last season. QPR if they survive this season are going to turn in to the thing they hate most - Chelsea! but obviously on a smaller scale.

Onuoha on a 5 year contract was a very bad move. They will lose out on a lot of money if they get relegated and he inevitably wants to move.

I am in agreement with Superman, tears are waiting for them. Just how soon remains to be seen but I have thought for at least 2 months now that a car crash is going to happen at Loftus Road and it's going to be very messy when it does.

If they ended up in administration within 5 years I would not be surprised in the slightest. As Wonky says - very high wages and risky transfers.

Should we take advantage of QPR's present issues and buy Faurlin off them? (SERIOUS question and I know he is out for the season)

its disappointing because i always liked qpr as a club but i do fear this will end very badly indeed. obviously their fans will probably disagree and will want to enjoy the ride or suggest that somehow we are all 'jealous'... nothing could be further from the truth! they are being run very, very badly and very irresponsibly and the irresponsible running of any football club can only end one way... badly. they aren't and never will be a big enough club to get away with this philosophy.

Certainly not jealous. If this was happening at Norwich I would be very, very concerned.

qpr are a very similar club to pompey in terms of stature and relative size in potential. if they aren't a warning shot i don't know what is!!

The way money appears to be being chucked about, you wonder about the balance sheet even if they stay up.

Fernandes has more than a whiff of 'I don't know what I'm doing' about him.

Keep your 6 fingered hands of Faurlin!!! Can't you take Barton instead? He'd love a reunion with Johnson.

Managed to lose what I was going to say but will try again.

Now that QPR have money they have to pay over the odds for all these players. It is a big mistake on QPR's part to give him a 5 year contract. A club in QPR's position should only be giving 2 year contracts at the most, 3 years at a stretch. They will have a huge problem should they get relegated and players like Onuoha want to leave.

The club is only thinking short term and only long term, based on the fact that they are certain they will stay up. Also, it doesn't really look like QPR are after raw quality. Their decisions appear to be based on which club they are at and how much they are earning.

Big players, big transfer fees and big wages don't always help. Just look at Torres.

Ferdinand, Wright-Phillips and Bothroyd seem like big players but they haven't really done anything special and didn't really set the team alight at their previous clubs. Haven't QPR learnt from them?

I would rather have a young and ambitious player like Howson who is earning a maximum of £15k a week and his only motive was to play in the Premier League (and find somewhere to fish) instead of a player like Zamora who wants £90k a week, 6 times more than Howson, a player who is past it and perhaps isn't even Premier League quality.

QPR should look at their league position, then Norwich's and Swansea's then look at the players signed by them, Norwich and Swansea.

I would rather have Ayala or Caulker than Gabbidon, Holt or Graham than Bothroyd, Pilkington or Dyer than Wright-Phillips and Howson or McEachran than Barton.

It's also interesting that they can sign Bothroyd and Campbell then fling them to one side and be replaced by Zamora and Cisse in January.

Just seen this on the BBC Sport website.

Not going to lead to a happy camp, is it?

It's going to go one of two ways for QPR. It may work out fine of course, but if it goes wrong, it'll go spectacularly wrong.

if they get a few good results early on then they should be ok, but if these new players start poorly they will be doomed
