They're just a waste of perfectly good oxygen. And it's all lapped up by the sort of mindless people who spend their evenings watching programmes about Kerry Katona and Jordan. I actually can't think of anything I'd like to watch less. I'd rather watch an eleven hour documentary featuring Lloyd Grossman reading the phone book whilst the band that play at England matches play "The Self Preservation Society" over and over in the background.
