I don't want to start another daft argument, but on what basis do you make that judgement?

I only ask, as I watch almost every televised game and to my knowledge, I've never actually seen Marshall play. I've heard he's a handy player, I have mates who are Wendies and rate him, but unless you've been sneaking to Wednesday games, I can't actually see how you'd know anything much about him?

I've seen a million and one opinions of him on various forums and everybody is saying this. Plus I have mates who are Stoke fans aswell as a Wednesday supporting mate and the guy who supports Wednesday said he was their best player during his time there.

Everyone says he's in the Nugent mould rather than the Stewart/Zaha type mould.

The kind of player that'll run his socks off and put a good shift in defensively while still knowing how to make a pass and beat a man.

A young Robert Snodgrass if you will. Plenty of potential and a bargain under 1m.

I wouldn't argue with that, I just wondered how AKCJ seems to know what sort of player he was and how he knew enough about him to want him over Stewart(I'd rather you did by the way).

Better value for money and the he's more of the type of player we'll need.

We don't want luxury players who'll throw in the towel when the going gets tough. We want young, hungry, hard working players like Marshall.

Fair enough if that's your opinion. Although it would appear you are implying Stewart is one of 'those type' of players, which he isn't. He doesn't really defend as Marshall may do but he certainly doesn't throw in the towel when the going gets tough. He has a lot of self-belief and at any point in a game is willing to take men on and make the oppositions back 4 look like fools regardless of how the game is going.

I'm not saying he is.

I'm saying we have enough luxury players as it is in King, Gally, Beckford ect.

We need some real grafters at the club.

I wouldn't argue with that either, I just question the assertion that you'd prefer him if they were both the same price, which was the point made.

I think if they were the same price, NP would go for Stewart, purely because he knows him better. But since Stewart would cost us four times the amount, I know which I'd prefer.

If they was both at the same price, then its a tough one but i would edge towards Stewart purely because he has played in the championship

We need more pacey players as apart from Lloyd Dyer no one can keep up with Beckford and Nugent

Marshall isn't raw pace. Neither is Nugent. They just both put themselves about a hell of a lot.

No of course not. Neither is Marshall.

But he's no Lloyd Dyer who's main attribute is pace.

I wish we didnt get rid of Dany N'Guessan, on his day he was unstoppable but when it wasnt he was pretty useless. But he was still a very good player to have. Nigel used him very well and he scored 6 goals as a bit part player

I would love for leeds to be in for him then if thats the case. (although snodgrass isn't old by any stretch of the imagination)

I'm not saying Snodgrass is old.

But they both share the same sort of characteristics and Marshall is 20.
