    Not Good Enough!

    Hamer, BWP, Wagstaffe,

Hamer was not just terrible yesterday; he is very inconsistent; kicking is hopeless. Not very good on commanding his box.

BWP has to go. With the money we receive from the sale we can purchase at least 2 other good forwards. In my view does not work for the team; pushed off the ball too often and all too easily.

Wagstaffe has to go because he needs to further his career, and he will not achieve that at Charlton! Also, Paul Hayes for the same reason

How much do you think BWP would go for?

I'm not having this about him- 14 goals so far without scoring in the past 8(?). What ever happened to the days when a play was off form, the fans would rally round and show support. He's trying, doesn't looked disinterested, and in the past couple games has been starved of service (same for kermo).

He will still reach 20 goals+. Not many of those strikers in the country...

I'd like to see Hayes given a game. No criticism of Kermit, but worth trying him with BWP again.

Nothing wrong with either BWP or Kermit that a goal or 2 wont cure. As chrissy says, its not as if they are missing chances at the moment, as they are simply not getting any ! but once we get to the Bury's and Rochdale's then they will be back. Disagree with BWP not looking disinterested - there was a passage of play yesterday in 2nd half, where he was getting so frustrated at Kermy's flick-ons that he spent some time just shaking his head and looking at the sky - but, hey, lets give him the benefit of the doubt by saying it was frustration. !

I think it's frustration, stu. No goalscorer likes going a game, let alone 8, without scoring.

Can't talk for y'day, but his overall game has improved since the drought <laugh>

Assume this is a total wind-up? Keeper with a better record than any in Charlton history (albeit thanks also to an amazing defence), the 2nd most dangerous striker in League One (on an off-patch at the moment, but September to Mid-November he was scoring every game... and what's Waggy done wrong?

Can't agree with your analysis and as usual with your threads. BWP did well as a team player and did actually go in for tackles, something he didn't do much of before, but was heavily marked, restricted to chances and pulled back often by their defenders. Hamer did drop the ball a few times but didn't have to pull off a serious save and I can remember Elliott having far worse games but then he was always the fans favourite even when unjustified. Wagstaff needs to play as he's too good not to come on and I would replace Green with Waggy for a few games and alternate them as subs. It was more the midfield I was worried about yesterday than anywhere else, overrun frequently and that's because Pritchard was too easily dispossessed. Stephens or Hughes are needed for those types of games.

What is wrong with speaking the truth? Too many fans, including you, are 'rose coloured' glasses' etc...

You clearly didn't see Hamer's long ball straight to BWP yesterday that helped set up an attack. Hamer's aerial ability is questionable but his kicking his good.

Hamer is quite lucky though, in that his mistakes never seem to get punished. He reminds me of a darts player in my team yonks ago who when he missed the 20 often got treble-18 or treble-12. I thought he deserved his place in the team because he was consistently lucky but not everyone agreed and he divided opinion.

It's not really though is it because it's distorted and you have to look at the season as a whole and not just the one game. BWP has won us many games with his goals, had he stayed at Plymouth they may even have avoided relegation so surely it's better to back a talented strikers than wade in with negative criticism when he's not getting many opportunities to score but wading in in other areas. And as for Hamer, he isn't doing too badly is he, and as I keep asking would Elliott be doing any better.

Rose coloured glasses? We're 7 points clear with a game in hand!! Don't need any rose-colour to be impressed with the team and the individuals... some folks just like to find fault.

I might have rose coloured glasses but if we get rid of Wagstaff who comes in if Green gets injured / suspended

And before you say Haynes, Powell confirmed he's been brought as a Striker not a winger!!

Ok then if we sell BWP like your saying Rufus who would you sign or who in are current side would be able to score as constantly as he normally does
Its all very good saying sell him cos he aint scored for 8 games but then he might score in the next 8
    GIVE THE GUY A BREAK
As for Hamer he made an outstanding save from the FK yesterday but made a few mistakes later on He still has only conceded 1 against sheff wed away and home sheff utd away and home and hudds home

Yeah, but he conceded 3 in 7 matches against the top 6. One was a penalty, one was a ridiculous deflection. Out out out!

Hamer must be doing something right in his career. He won the golden gloves at Brentford with 19(?) clean sheets, and now at CAFC he's got the best goalkeeper record in the league.

It can't all be down to luck.
