The FA Cup final a few years back was a bit gutting. Arsenal were very poor, maybe made to look poor by the Saints, Marsden was a legend. Ormerod nearly scored a blinder.

Then Pires popped up with about Arsenal's only decent chance and scored what turned out to be the winner :(

Was also peeved by the Redknapp failures. When we kept getting the result against Norwich in the run in and then letting them back in etc.

You forget the cashley cole hand ball off the line <ok>

Only had a season ticket for the last few season but one sticks in the mind. Loosing 2-1? to Forest in our relegation season, fans were fighting in the stands and thats when the realisation dawned that our youth team just wasnt up to it, and we would be going down to the third teir just years after being in the prem. Horrible sinking feeling and such a negative mood at the club poles apart from now.

I think I know which game you mean, because that would be my game too. People were burning their season tickets in the block beside mine <laugh>

Yh its hard to imagine such a horrible negative atmosphere now just a few years ago aswell

I have it on good authority (gooner brother in law) that it was only one hand and therefore doesn't count against them.

assuming you mean Beattie's header at the end?

I was right behind the goal Cashley handled it <laugh>

The Derby playoff game at St Marys for me. My little Sis sang on the pitch 5 mins before kick off and the derby fans booed so loud during her singing (cos she was wearing a saints shirt) that she could not hear the backing music to sing too. Bless her.

To then lose was a disaster for me.

Tranmere game definitely sticks out. Any loss to Pompey. The saints Brighton game (poyets first) annoyed me somewhat and also the European game against steau Bucharest a few years back. We never got into the games.

So many games to choose from!!!! The game that made me angriest was the 4.3 loss to Tranmere after being 3.0 up. Also a couple of games under Redknapp where we threw games away and were subsequently relegated.

This.

If I was forced to choose just the one match, though, it would have to be *that* match at Fratton in 2005.

The FA Cup final hurt, as like others have said, we fought hard to win. Strachan probably thinks 'if only' about dropping Fernandes for Baird quite a bit. Arsenal were average, but we probably would have been torn to shreds if Henry had gone down under Claus' pull-back which would have 100% resulted in a red card. Was nice to see on the Arsenal-Leeds highlight show last night that, when Strachan was pundit, he said that Henry shook his hand after the game and was chatting to him. He had a few good moments against us, like he did against many other clubs!

The 2-0 defeat to Rochdale last season was up there too. I thought we'd hit rock bottom and that there was no way back from that. How times change so quickly!

The worst feeling coming away from a game though, without a doubt, was the 4-1 vs Pompey, FA Cup, 2010. Another 'if only' game. If only we'd scored in the 1st half...

April.2005 4-1 Pompey v Saints. Was just outside torrevieja with new misses looking for a bar to watch the game. After about an hour found a little bar and the barman was from eastleigh, so chose the best seats available as bar was near empty.15 mins before kickoff about 8 pompey supporters came in and we had a quick banter session before the slaughter would begin.Oh how i was wrong ....... Crouch injured in warm up.... The boos for harry ..... Probably the most miserable afternoon i ever had in a bar in Spain.
