The way I understand it is that earlier in the season we wanted him and agreed a fee with Donny but couldn't agree terms with Sharp. With that in mind, I believe the stories that we are not interested this time around. Whatever his reasons, he has turned us down and I don't think that would sit too well with our management. We look elsewhere. Good luck to Leicester, they are only doing what a lot of clubs in their position would do if the opportunity came along. We are doing it slighty differently, but I doubt there are many here who would have complained if someone had come to us and started splashing the cash.
I heard from a reliable source that billy wanted to come to us and we didnt want him. Apparently billy is going to be on 28k at Leicester but said to us he would take 20,rising to 30 in prem.
It was on twitter about the 28k, plus the 20k to 30k. Said by simon peach, no where did it say he say he wanted to come to us tho.
Ah I didn't realise peachy put it on his twitter. I live with him in London, don't check his twitter much though.
What an agent says to people and what the player actually agrees to are completely different things!!! The agent may well have touted a 20k to several clubs at which point he would then go back to the player and lay the options on the table for the player to decide (or sometimes be persuaded)
Sorry, but it's pretty clear that he's a family man. He wants to stay in Sheffield which is why he flat out rejected West Ham.
Whatever Billy Sharp does or doesn't do, I'll always have a lot of admiration for him. He deserves all the good coming his way. I'll always look out for him after his recent courage.
