Where they the players that came just after Adam Pearson took over and they were duly sent packing because they were not up to standard. I recall that before they arrived it was to herald a special relationship with Scandinavian clubs who would send us players on loan?
Found a bit more info on our previous forays into the Scandinavian market. http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~115299,00.html http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~115299,00.html (taken from 2001) http://www.hullcity-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/pearson_lyngby_ace_was_tapped_up_20325/index.shtml (2001) All to do with our previous attempt at doing a deal with Lyngby.
That's frightening if he got stronger last season than he'd previously been. Pre-season game I saw him in at the beginning of last season he was holding off big lumps of centrehalves as though they weren't there. About the same as Fryatt then, but he is much better in the air, or at least he was in the game I've mentioned. Was very Shearer like when he had his back to goal (more Rooney like when he was facing it).
He'll be good if he can be polished, it was very raw, that's just the styles of play he seemed to adapt. If you think about Cristiano Ronaldo, his style of play when he first joined Man U was basically the same as when he left, but he'd been taught when to do what and had improved his ability within that style.
There's no doubt the Man U youngsters must have raw talent and I think the route we are going down by loaning them with a view to permanently signing them can only be a good thing for us. There will be more good players signed than bad if we continue to adopt this approach towards recruiting players
I suppose, but then you wouldn't have guessed there was an Iwelumo clan in Scotland....... names can be decieving
I don't think they can have been up to much, look at the club Roar ended up playing... http://translate.google.co.uk/trans...h?q=Roar+Fredriksen&hl=en&client=safari&tbo=d
