If he performs worse than Anderson then he shouldn't be in the Yorkshire side. England need something different, Anderson is playing terrible and is pretty much losing matches on his won due to his woeful economy rate. His record has been okay but in this World Cup he's been found out, either that or he's hit a serious drop in form. I say give either Shahzad or Tremlett a go, as you say Tom he cannot do any worse.
I think Morgan should go back and play for Ireland, they're a few players short of a very good one day side and one that could and should tear a few teams apart.
Is Tremlett definitely in the squad then? I thought he was only around if Broad wasn't fit for the Cup, which he obviously is now.
No idea mate just chucking another name in to the mixer, if not then Shahzad should play instead of Anderson.
I still think Woakes should have gone to the World Cup, looks a cracking young player. Strauss also worries me, not his batting of course, but his captaincy in ODI's is found wanting at times, but no-one else will do it.
I'll do it, not the captaining on the field, give that to someone like Collingwood but i'd sure as hell get them fired up beforehand and give them a damn good verbal if they're playing piss poor.
That has to be the hope. I'm only a casual cricket supporter, and I only ever really watch the limited overs stuff, but I really hope we can push forwards from this result, and get playing regularly against the top sides. Ideally I'd love Ireland to some day be able to hang onto the Joyces and the Morgans, and I suppose now the O'Briens as well.
The world's most expensive season ticket has gone on sale at Peterborough United. For ã15,000, a well-heeled Posh fan can watch their team from the directors' box and eat as many meat pies as they like. Full story: Daily Mail It's just down the road but i'll give that a miss, possibly out of my price range.
Colly doesn't want to captain any more. He only does the Twenty20 captaincy because no one else wants to do it or is suitable.
Bit of a shame that Tom but it must take it out of a cricketer and take his focus away from concentrating on the main part of his game.
I put this post on the general chat rather than the Gordon Banks Thread. After Gordons induction who should be the next sporting inductee, not sure if he is already in there (can't find list) but if not I reckon Ray Reardon should be.
Word of another bust up at the training ground. What are the chances (if true of course) that it involved Fuller? Quite high in my opinion. http://twitter.com/#!/oatcakescfc/status/43026505617506304 @oatcakescfc The Oatcake Fanzine Ooh, word of a bit of a bust-up in training today after a rather clumsy tackle by one player on another!
The bust up will be something immature, nothing serious will come of it I reckon. Just had a lazy day really, did a bit of paperwork, and watching The Mighty Boosh all day.... I think my obsession with Noel Fielding is a little TOO much But hey, as long as he doesn't mind..
Never understood the Mighty Boosh, and when I said this to a neighbour of mine, he said there is nothing to get/understand about it, which greatly confused me, because surely in order to find something funny you have to understand why it is funny?
It is pretty random for sure, and I understand how it is not to everyones taste, I really do, they like to randomly crimp and dance at random intervals, which is crazy. But hey, its hilarious. And it just so happens that Vince Noir [Noel] happens to be extremely hot....
I think trying to understand The Boosh would make it less funny. . . The Nightmare of Milky Joe is one of my favourites, and this:
Potterpistol, A fan, ey? Yeah, I haven't seen that episode yet. Like these? All worth watching, funny stuff
Aye, love The Boosh, got all the DVD's, went to see the Future Sailors tour Sucks that it doesn't look like there's gonna be anymore series' of it though, but there's word of a possible film. . . I love the Boosh for some of the random characters like these, they're genius! Look at them shine!! EDIT: Just been pissing myself laughing at The Hitcher
