So just for fun, who has been our best keeper NOT including Shilton or Banks or er Kasper (as I don't want WW3 breaking out again). Mine would be a toss up between Kasey Keller and Tim Flowers as I can't really choose between them!

Hull and Leeds fans you may partake but please be nice ;)
 
Keller/Flowers in The Premier League.

Kasper/Fulop in The Championship.

Bunn/Stockdale in League One.
 
I think Kasey Keller has to be well up there, love how he wore glasses all the time when he wasn't playing <laugh>

Didn't (Kevin) Poole drop his POTY trophy too <laugh>

We've had class keepers <ok>
 
:emoticon-0137-clappRight don't take this wrong, I don't mean that he is the bestest ever but when I were a lad and sitting in the North Stand with my bruv and our mates I remember watching Ian Andrews (the early years) in awe. I recall one particularly brilliant save when a ball was going for the top right hand corner and he had no right to get it at all but he launched himself and caught the ball at full stretch.

Speaking of goalkeepers Tim Howard just scored for Everton. He cleared the ball from the edge of his own area and the wind took it in
 
Flowers was a massive step from Keller. His form when he was with us was phenomenal, I never understood how he didnt get an England call up when he was with us.
 
One problem with Flowers was he missed half a season one year so we had to put Simon Royce in goal and he was crap
 
Best Leicester keeper I've seen was &#381;eljko Kalac - single handedly won us the the playoff final against Crystal Palace by scaring the Palace side so much Claridge was able to beat their defence and to shin the ball over their keeper.

In all seriousness outside Shilton and Banks, Tim Flowers was another class.
 
Wallington had the unenviable task of following the two legends Banks and Shilton ... iIMHO he was a fine keeper and we have not had many since that could compare .. Keller was susceptible to a low shot bouncing in front of him, Flowers was prone to injury ... never really rated Ian Walker even during ihis Spurs days .. when you have seen the likes of Banks and Shilton leaping like salmon to catch (not punch) high crosses with proper centre-forwards bouncing off them it is difficult to develop the same 'love' for a keeper who timidly stands on his line .. I saw the England Italy world cup qualifier in the mid nineties at Wembley (Zola scored the only goal) and my abiding memory was of Walker refusing to come off his line and flapping like a big girl at every Italian corner .... distinctly average in my book.
