Funnily enough i sent my friend im going with Soapbox as my "leftfield" choice for Friday. Love Private Public Transport! Shame start just before DJT finishes. To be honest could of been anyone on Introducing Stage and i would be watching as alternative is Becky Hill! Thanks for the tip on entrance will get off stop after. Was thinking of getting train back to Hamilton 10.30ish and watching match there. Let me know hopefully its Friday or Saturday? Yes Beta Band on list, also looking forward to Beluga Lagoon on Friday

Saturday looks a better line-up. English Teacher are from down your way, won the Mercury last year, saw them just after thst. Last Dinner Party are also good. The Snuts will have the place jumping, they're from Whitburn, half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh where Lewis Capaldi is also from....he's on on the Sunday. Kasabian never been the same since Toms fall from grace, but Serge is still a good frontman. Big Special would be a good leftfield choice.

Are you going on Sunday too? I saw Westside Cowboy a few weeks ago supporting Geese, and they were brilliant.

I like Big Special, unfortunately clash with English Teacher who i really want to see. Just Friday and Saturday, theres only so much crap 3% Carlsburg u can drink!. Festivals and beer choice are an absolute farce

Just be aware pal, we think you'll only be able to access the arena via the main entrance off the Saltmarket, but when you leave you'll be able to go out via the VIP/accessible entrance on the far side nearest Bridgeton Station.

Are you planning on staying on for the Scotland v Morocco game? They are showing it on the big screen once Ashcroft has finished his set. You'll need to get a taxi/Uber back to your hotel if you do, don't think the trains are running late.

Try and catch The Beta Band on the King Tuts stage, saw them late last year and it was a great show. If you get time, go and see Soapbox, my sons band supported them a couple of years ago. I've also got some intel on a secret show by a big Scottish band not on the setlist, but need to find out what day they are playing before I tell you more!

Just hope the weather stays good for you - glorious today, but last two weeks have been pretty dreich.
Any news of secret set yet@Steels?

Yes, it's on Saturday in the futures tent, which only holds 300...it's Twin Atlantic, but don't know time or what name they'll be playing under. Lead singer is my work partners step-son....if you don't know them, they're from Glasgow and always sell out big venues in town...they've had six top ten albums. If you get the chance, see if you can squeeze in, it's a good show! Got offered VIP freebies but have other stuff on unfortunately

Cheers Steels will keep my eye out for any random movement of people on Saturday. Weather looks special on Friday! Trying to work out how safe it will be watching Scotland in Hamilton!

Jon Anderson and his band are touring this year playing old Yes stuff - which I love - so I thought I'd check out tickets. The missus didn't fancy it (she was more disco than prog), so I asked a mate if he fancied it, which he did. Turned out tickets at the Palladium - face value £88 - were already sold out, but my online enquiry directed me to Viagogo. Here I was offered two tickets together at £230, so I called my pal and said 'they're £115 each - what do you reckon?' He gave me the thumbs up, so I went ahead with the booking only to find that it was actually £230 each!

I declined- ****ing robbers.

Just don't wear an England shirt <laugh>

To be honest, I've lived up here over 25 years, and never had any hassle for being English. Hamilton isn't the best of town centres but sure there will be plenty of places to catch the game.

Have a great time, hope the weather turns, it's a bit damp today

Try Twickets - we got two tickets for B-52s tonight at face value

Last night at the Barrowlands, a trip down memory lane with The B-52s, supported by The Rezillos.

We tried to get tickets for this when they went on general sale, but it sold out in under two minutes. Mrs SM had been keeping an eye on the resale sites, and managed to snap two up on Twickets for face value a couple of days ago.

I love Barrowlands, especially when it's full to the brim like it was last night, but it was ****in roasting! I'd been working up north, so was a bit later getting home, but got in to the venue in time to catch about 20 minutes of The Rezillos. We saw them last year at a festival and they were quite rusty, but were much better last night. I think Fay has been on the Monjaro though, she's lost a lot of weight! Eugene was his normal, weird geeky self and it was good to hear Top of the Pops and Ballroom Blitz.

A good DJ/video show with lots of colourful tunes from the 80s during the break, then on to the main act.

Opening with Planet Claire, it was a set full of hits. Early stuff like Dance This Mess Around interspersed with their 80s heydeys Roam and Topaz, then finished off with Love Shack and Rock Lobster. Great visuals, really bright and heavy on the neon. The band were tight, but I was really impressed with how good their voices were considering they are all in their 70s. Fred looks a bit shaky, maybe early onset of some form of Parkinsons by the looks of him shuffling around.

One lesson though - don't go to see your teenage crushes from 40 years ago expecting them to be as hot as they were back then! Cindy looks good for her age, but Kate Pearson looks like she's spent a lot of time with the plastic surgeon...

Gorillaz were very entertaining last night but first I feel I have to admit the Tottenham stadium is fantastic, impressive if only the football was better. My third trip this season, two games and this Gorillaz gig. Honestly it’s almost as good as Loftus Road.
Supported by a short 30/35 minute set by Sparks, how old are those guys I bought “this town” 53 years ago. Still looking and sounding great, “No 1 song in heaven” deserves more play.
Now to the Gorillaz plus an orchestra and guests from Argentina, Mali, India in fact name a place and I’m sure there was someone from there likewise in the audience. A truly world music experience all conducted by Albarn. All the hits played, great stage set with cartoon choir.
Helpful stewards and bar prices not excessive, a good time was seemingly had by all.
Negatives a slight echo on the sound and getting away from the stadium after.

Good article on the show...
