Is listed status ever reviewed? Once granted can it be reversed? I wonder who nominated Lawns for listed status? The more I think about it the more murky it seems to be, jobs for the boys and all that, unelected bodies deciding what's good for us.
But there again I always did like a good conspiracy... :bandit:

It would have to be proved that The Lawns isn't of special architectural interest.

But it is of special architectural interest, which is why it was listed in the first place.

It's all a bit Catch 22 but you can't really remove listed status.

86.5 acres plus a six bedroom mansion, outbuildings, two cottages and padlocks, offers around £3.25m. In Tickton. As mentioned before on here.
We have just been offered £5m for Joseph. Allegedly.

Let's get this right, it's a house some out buildings and about 6.5 acres of land. Offers over 2 million.

Let's get this right. The Hall with 6.5 acres of land is open to offers of around £2m with access to a further 80 acres of adjoining paddocks and stables for £1.25m. It was the home of Beverley Polo Club.

Why on earth would the club pay £3.25m to buy a knackered five bed house and some stables, when they can just buy 100,000 acres of farmland for around £1m?
Knackered is it? Didn't read that description of the property in the listings. You forgot to mention the 80+acres of prime paddocks. As for '100,000 acres of farmland for £1m' Where's that then? Sunk Island?
Location, location, location.

‘The 79.76-acre equestrian and polo grounds, including an indoor arena, pavilion, and extensive stabling, is on the market with a guide price of £1,250,000’.

We’d have to pay to demolish everything to get it back to a site for pitches, it’s obviously better to buy an empty site and it needs to be fairly flat (I have no idea if that site is or not).

I don't know about an exact site but surely somewhere in Cottingham
with the potential to build housing would be massively more expensive
than some agricultural land west of Hull

And I've never disputed that fact, only you jumped on my post and rubbished the whole idea when I originally suggested the site, because it was new on the market, as a possible site for a new training ground. I also said we will be paying anything between two and three million pounds to bring in a decent loan player for one season, which, in comparison makes the 80 acre site, on a main road a mile outside of Beverley look like a snip.
