Hypothetically, if we get a front-of-shirt sponsor for £6 million, can we put it on this season’s accounts or does it have to go on the 26/27 accounts?
I would expect the revenue recognition to be over the period of the sponsorship. It would in normal accounting so cant see why a football club would be any different

Yeah those two, Carrero and Zambrano are surely pretty much guarantees?

It'll depend, there's no point bringing Zambrano in if Serg doesn't think he'll make the first team. If he stays at Maribor, at least he'll play and we aren't paying his wages. Carrero I'm less sure on, that was lined up when we were in the Championship.

If it were me, I'd leave them both there and then if we go down, we know we have two players ready to come in next season.

I'd presumed we'd take them so they were on our books, but it makes sense what you say there. I'd rather buy them and loan them in England to get them acclimatised personally.

An aus player I think I suggested we look at previously (Herrington, an 18 year old cb who'll start for us today) is close to joining Barcelona from the mls. Will be sold for a massive profit. If Acun needs eyes in the Aus market I'm available..
Wouldn't harm for the club to take up offers like that, might be an idea to see if the club has a link that can allow you to forward info on players to them from your part of the world.

My lad does it for Brentford but he works directly with the club and watches so many games a week and then profiles the players he recommends they should follow up some more on.

Doesn't receiving income create cash flow. Sounds confusing.
The issue with PSR is the 3 year 'rolling reporting period'.

Simply put, we are projected to overspend by a significant amount before July - unless we generate significant revenue by the end of the month.

With player sales, the value of the deal gets counted in the reporting period in which the sale takes place, regardless of when the money arrives - usually paid in installments over time.

That's the difference between income counted for PSR purposes in a specific reporting period, and actual cashflow from those deals.

Now...

I note reports from Turkiye suggesting our esteemed owner has been received in the palace by Erdogan.

If that meeting went well, it's more a question of 'how' we raise those funds permissibly, not so much 'if'.

Time will tell. But don't be surprised to see players sold to Turkish clubs, and potentially forward - weighted sponsorship(s) received from Turkish brand(s) in the next couple of weeks.

Fingers crossed anyway.

Ok ta. Interesting

I just said in the other thread I really like the look of the young lad in goal. Reckon he will get a European move on the back of this tournament if he carries on playing like this.

Yeah Beach is very promising. Only 22. Of course Irankunda who has already started to make a mark in England with the first goal such great composure. All round a very good performance.
