Don’t know why he always tries the kick to the touchline when he doesn’t have the accuracy. At least 50% of them just go out for an enemy throw in. If you don’t have the accuracy to pull it off routinely then just go central surely?

Obviously instructions to do that but just seems a bit bizarre to repeatedly be so wasteful.
It sounds absolutely ridiculous, but I’ve wondered if it’s actually intentional (kicking the ball out). We are at our most dangerous countering in transition, rather than building from the back. Therefore statistically it makes sense to give opponents the ball but in their half?

Pandurs accuracy during the warm up at wembley was excellent, I was really surprised. Soon as the game started and there was a tiny bit of pressure it took a nose dive. Must be a psychological thing for him as he 100% has the technique and ability.

I think this is partially true. I do think we like to contain a team on one side, so lots of the time, it’s stick it on a full-back, if we win something, great, if not, it’s a throw in and we’ve got them on one side of the pitch

Not sure it would work in Premier. We’d likely not get near the ball for 10 minutes.

Hull City have taken up a one-year option in Harvey Cartwright's contract to keep the goalkeeper at the club until the end of next season. The Grimsby-born 24-year-old spent part of last season on loan at Hartlepool and will get another year at the Tigers, who have confirmed their retained list for next season.

Cartwright's new contract is the only senior retention from the first team squad, with confirmation midfielder Harry Vaughan will leave the club on June 30 when his contract expires, having been on loan at Irish club Bohemians.

There is also confirmation the loan deals have ended for Joe Gelhardt, Toby Collyer, Amir Hadziahmetovic, Yu Hirakawa, Lewis Koumas and John Lundstram. The rest of the first team squad remain under for at least one more year.

In the under-21s, while captain Lewie Coyle is celebrating promotion to the Premier League, younger brother Rocco Coyle has been released. Coyle joins Pharrell Brown, Sammy Henia-Kamau, João Mendes, Harry Revill, Noah Wadsworth and Callum Yam in leaving following the expiry of their deals, but new contracts have been offered to Stan Ashbee, Ed Devine, Archie Howard, Aidon Shehu and Nathan Tinsdale.

From the under-18s, second-year scholars Ramell Carter and Josh Ocaya have been promoted to the under-21s after signing their first professional deals, while Zac Jagielka, Charlie Leach, Calvin Okike and Reuben Silk have been offered professional contracts to join the Under-21s.

I think its simply that if you **** up kicking out wide the consequences are usually a lot better than kicking down the middle and ****ing up.

To me it shows no trust in his kicking at all

Pandur is a strange one. I don’t know why we don’t set up like Big Sam used to from goal kicks, put 2/3 round Crooks and McBurnie and smash it.

As much as McBurnie is great getting on crosses and defensively in the air, he's less good when he's got to win an ariel ball from a GK against big defenders. There were so many times last season when that tactic didn't work.

Only small suprise for me is Henia-Kamau being released, but I guess they have to be really selective.

The 'thanks' announcement on the loans sounded like goodbyes. I thought we'd be back in for Gelhardt and Collyer (and still might be I suppose).

Intersting one from that list is Pharrell Brown. I seem to recall he looked more than comfortable in the first team pre season last year, even scoring..??... I thought Serge had spoken very positive about him too... or am I getting the wrong player..?

Ha.... sorry TMarv, ive done it again, I should read to the bottom of the threads before positing...
