Probably. So what does 'slightly' = ? £1m, £5m ... £10m???Our wages were probably quite high this season.

ok but how big are deductions and I assume they go in our favour? how close is the ratio? and since you know more than I do about club accounts ... what on earth was the administrative costs ~ £29m?Those losses don't exclude deductions. The accounts are never a 1:1 with psr.
Baz said a significant amount, which doesn't help too much. But it sounds like an amount that will require some effort to recoup, so that would suggest to me above 5m as I think we we could anything under that we could raise easily through Omur, Kamara, Burstow, Palmer and a couple of other fringe players.
My gut is telling me over 10 though and we will potentially sell one or all of Drameh, Pandur and Joseph. I wouldn't be suprised to see some funny deals with Turkish clubs and Maribor to help us get there though.
Oh. Thats quite big then. Mind I don't think any of them are really PL quality though.Baz said a significant amount, which doesn't help too much. Running the financial side of a football club must require a staff of three dozen finance and accounting boffins. Oh for the days when they were owned and run by the butcher, the baker, and not forgetting the candlestick maker. Little wonder some clubs 'inadvertently' lose track....eg Man Citeh!!!!Hull City Owner Acun Ilıcalı:"Hull City are slightly over the spending cap and need to sell before July 1st to be in line with the EFL PSR rules for the season."
This makes me nervous. 'slightly'= ??
Panic! Nah probably sell Hughes / BelloumiWhat was the plan if we didn’t go up
There’s no probably about it, Acun said in terms that we would have to sell this summer in his Q&A before the playoff final. But we won’t be selling PL quality assets now, that would be self-harm, we will look to sell the Championship level players (and lower) instead.Panic! Nah probably sell Hughes / Belloumi
What was the plan if we didn’t go up
How exactly have we overspent in a season we weren't allowed to spend any money and any wage offers had to be ratified by the efl?
Because the efl only really care that we have enough money to pay the other clubs etc. you'd be surprised how lenient they've been with our wages. Some of the wages we have paid this year are quite frightening and a huge gamble.... fortunately it's paid off
The figure you told me for McBurnie’s weekly wages was eye-watering. I bet Lundstram was on loads at Trabzonspor as well and we payed the lion’s share of it.Because the efl only really care that we have enough money to pay the other clubs etc. you'd be surprised how lenient they've been with our wages. If he was on 60k a year, yes it’s a daft amount for the championship but we didn’t pay a fee for him. If we spent 2 million on his fee then a million in wages a year that isn’t daft at all I would say. What’s the average wage for a top end championship striker? If we had to pay another championship club to get him it would easily have cost us 5/6 million in transfer fee alone.I heard a passing comment from someone well linked that McBurnie was on £3m a year last year (before bonuses) but I didn't delve into things to find out anymore. Thankfully he was worth every penny.
I'm assuming he/his agent knew we were desperate and he was the best we could get on a free so they went big on the wages knowing we really wanted him.
It’s a fair point but you can amortise transfer fees over the length of the contract but the annual wages go on that year’s accounts. If he was on 60k a year, yes it’s a daft amount for the championship but we didn’t pay a fee for him.
