Depends how much loss we have made in this three-year period. We might be able to get below the threshold if we have a fire sale of the fringe players like Phillips, Jacob, Kamara, Drameh, Famewo, Dowell, Palmer, Burstow and Ömür by the end of June.

We’ll then start with a clean slate for SCR from 1st July 2026 to 30th June 2027.
Wondering if the psr deficit is less than 3-4m then maybe the revenue/TV/prize money/ increased sponsorship from the 3 playoff games might cover it?

I think he is, Jim. Maybe even £8 million at the absolute most. He had a good season and is still quite young.
Big question for me is whether he’s still the same player he was. Had his form pre-injury carried on then for me he’d be upwards of £8M. Overall on stats for the full season he might still be £5-8M, but you’re taking an average there of an incredible run of form pre-injury and a less impressive display afterwards. If he comes back as good (and there were at least some signs of that by the very end of the season) then great, otherwise no.

Not sure Jim. After a good season in a play off winning team and over 10 goals plus assists he is definitely in the 5 million bracket. Dont get top top players for 5 million these days.
I expect we're looking for 2.5m for burstow and he's defo twice the player at least. All relative, 5m doesn't get you much nowadays

Isn't Sergej a big admirer of Kenny MacLean at Norwich? Whilst I couldn't see him starting week in week out, he could be a useful addition to the squad, that's if Norwich would be willing to part company, though at 34 maybe his time has gone.

I think he is a good championship player and his stats show that but is that really what 5 mil gets you now?

Its ridiculous if you end up being right. You could get more for your money abroad as shown with Belloumi. The British market is mental. As someone else has just said he cant play 10 and would be our second best right winger as it stands. Since when would 8 mil be acceptable in that situation? I really hope we tell Leeds to sod off and go for someone proven at the top level for that sort of money

It’s just the going rate these days. He did have a good season in terms of goals and assists. If he was already our player, we’d be talking about him as a £15-20 million player like Philogene.

It's a leap of faith to give them anymore.

He was getting touted around at £3 million halfway through the season and I did mention at the time that I'd seen an article suggesting they'd be looking for nearer £8 million, that was laughed out of court at the time but I assume that now the owner has got cash it's fair game?

I'm not sure he fits the profile of buying a player to make money because he's not certain to progress to being a Premier League player.

I do wonder what his expected wages are as well because he's rumoured to be on decent money on their books.

Thats. really good point Ric. If the strategy is to find players (South America) who will enhance their value and perhaps significantly I don't see the the resale value in Geldhart.

Maybe but not everyone player needs to have resale value. Egan and Crooks didn’t when we signed them.

I’d sign Gelhardt but £8 million would be my hard limit.
