He was always keen to sign up until January when something happened and the Liverpool stuff came to light. I've not seen him for a couple of months as he moved out of seaham hall but since he came he was always up for it. Hope the rumours are true

Was thinking of you reading these posts. You said a while ago he came with no intention of leaving. But have to admit if Liverpool come in its hard for a player to not be interested. Truth is he was a short term fix for them having a few injuries, his versatility added to Slot knowing him was behind it. But it always seemed like it was a you will do for 3 or 4 weeks sort of thing.

Maybe it unsettled him for a bit but he has seemed happy and played fantastic last few matches!

Yeah I think he was a bit put out with not playing much and being dropped after having a good game, think slot is the reason for the Liverpool move as it was a previous manager of his. He always indicated to me he was happy to sign. Something has happened I think for it to get close in jan but hopefully it's all sorted now and the rumours are correct.

Aye they talking about the tighter rules for Europe.

You can legit just pay a small fine and bypass them I believe.
No everything.

Saying we over spent and it’s going to affect us.

When saying that in the 4 years in L1 and 3 in the champion we barley spent a penny,
Sold more than we brought in that time.
Massive revenue in sales, sponsors, promotion and TV deals we are healthy and debt free.

Totally ignoring all the factual and well reported facts about the healthiness of our financial state.

Isn’t this Leeds who nearly went under due to Ridsdale and barely a decade later are begging their owners to spend fortunes again?

I think k we be alright like <laugh>

The very same Leeds Utd who were paying Seth Johnson £65k p/w back in the day! I won't be taking financial lessons from those whoppers.

I also wonder whether we might take a serious look at Hayden Hackney this summer.

Ticks a lot of the boxes for for what we need in terms of an understudy to Xhaka and widely expected to make a move to the PL this summer. Young and potentially has high resale value, which we obviously tend to prioritise. Would also help us to fill the homegrown quota which we need to be thinking of for Europe.

We have a couple of players in Browne and Patterson who may be of interest to them for next season. I wonder whether they might be considering Dan Neil already as cost effective like-for-like replacement for Hackney - feels like Ipswich might not retain him given he wasn't starting to often for them in the Championship.

Potential issue is obviously him being a Boro lad and whether the move would feel like a betrayal. Think the likes of Cattermole and Leadbitter have proved that doesn't have to be a huge issue, though.
I wonder if he goes to West Ham as part of their inevitable rebuild. Go up with them, rather than moving to a club already in the prem.

I imagine they would still pay him pretty well, and I'd consider it a step up even though in the same division.

Honest, now would be a daft time to lose Mayenda, I can't see many sides that would want him being able to afford him.

You would like to think in rotation he would be a good option with Europe. But I guess Le Bris just doesn't fancy him in either role.
I think at the very least he should leave on loan to get games. At this point he isn’t good enough for the level we’re at and with the volume of games we need 3 who are. I’d say we need someone else who can play the target role and a better all round version of Isidor who isn’t a liability when off form.

Just been listening to Talksport on the way to work and apparently Chelsea are demanding 110m for Enzo this summer, and teams like Madrid and PSG are weighing a move up. Absolutely ridiculous money for a player who isnt even World class imo.
Makes you wonder how much Le Fee should be worth, because I know which one out of them 2 id prefer in my team.

Honestly can you think of a player, anywhere, that plays like Xhaka? His calmness in possession in tight spaces and ease of passing range is unmatched globally, I can't think of one player like him. Don't get me wrong, there are other world class centre mids but they have different skillsets and attributes that Xhaka doesn't have.
A few posters on here mentioned Anton Stach last summer before he went to Leeds. He'd have been perfect.
