Honestly can you think of a player, anywhere, that plays like Xhaka? His calmness in possession in tight spaces and ease of passing range is unmatched globally, I can't think of one player like him. Don't get me wrong, there are other world class centre mids but they have different skillsets and attributes that Xhaka doesn't have.

Hackney could be an option for a relative cheap and homegrown option, throw Browne and abdouhalli on loan there to sweeten deal. Probably going to have to rotate xhaka with the extra euro games.
He was always keen to sign up until January when something happened and the Liverpool stuff came to light. I've not seen him for a couple of months as he moved out of seaham hall but since he came he was always up for it. Hope the rumours are true

I get where you’re coming from re: Hackney and the speed of the PL.
Quality player though, imo, and would be a solid addition - especially for the European games. Very good vision and would link up well with the players we’ve got here already.

I don’t think any will be named in our premier league squad. We have four spare slots and only three if Geertruida stays and that’s assuming we don’t extend Traore’s deal.
