Even if the judgment is overturned, I don't want Tonda and his first team staff anywhere near the pitch, in fact I'd want them sacked before Saturdays match. I don't know how the players can play for him now. The players deserve to play the final, even if we lose 5-0 to Hull.

Though I'm also upset that they did this, this is a genuine drop in the ocean to the absolute ****show of countless corrupt owners that the EFL and PL + football in general wave through into ownership roles. That's a fact - SR don't even register on the scale - if this is Tonda and his analysts, I still am not holing SR responsible until I've heard the facts. There is a chance they were not aware - in which case they can be held up for slack oversight, but not for encouraging cheating.

I support this club and always will, because it isn't about a single ownership or group of players. But I am most upset about the fact Tonda (or whoever ends up being responsible) did not have the belief in this set of unbelievable players to do this job in pure footballing terms, and felt they had to support it further by sending people along to film training sessions with an iPhone. This was hands down the best squad in the Championship from January onwards, and it was going to the Premier league, and now who knows what will happen, but am not confident it's going to look anything like the season we've just had.

If we hadn't had a cup run, I think we would have done it via the automatics too - why oh why could we not have spied on our PL cup opponents, so that we could have lost to them early on and focused on just getting up?!
You don’t know what pressure SR put on Tonda and the coaching team to ensure they were promoted

I find that quite depressing tbh. Mercenary bastards, how about a bit of loyalty, at least in public, to the man who supercharged your careers?
I think we have to assume all these 'reports' from the players are completely fabricated, or greatly exaggerated. Right now the vultures are circling, and we're not able to put up much of a fight.

They are fuming at getting kicked out the play offs, they dont care about the cheating. If it was to be over turned theyd be fine, that is literally all they care about.
It really annoys me when players say about looking at legal action , maybe we should take them to court for not turning up at the beginning of the season. ****ing rediculous

What I find strange is usually, fans of any club are similar in thoughts to one another on most issues. For example the majority feel VAR is being used wrongly specially when it comes to offside. Reading just the Southampton fans opinions on here, there is a huge divide about what you have done, some calling it farcical and others wanting heads to role and feeling ashamed of the club.

There is far worse cheating going on in almost every game in every division. You sent a guy to watch a training session, he would have gathered less information than your coach could have gained from watching the last 5 Boro games
I'm with you. The outcry I think over this is a bit mental

It isn’t a crime ffs. We’re being treated like criminals by the media, which imo has fuelled this absurdly disproportionate response from the EFL. But no crime has been committed.
Well in the eyes of the EFL we have otherwise why are being punished.

Regardless of the outcome tonight/tomorrow, I'm glad we can put a line under the most serious offence in the modern game, and the same passion and anger can be directed elsewhere. It then gives the EFL/FA the time to focus on the lesser problems in our modern game, such as:

Financial doping, State Owned Clubs, Racism, Sexism, Homophobia, Performance Enhancing Drugs, and Poor Club Ownership Vetting.

It won’t work though as this is the most blatant form of cheating you can do. Deliberately sending a staff member to spy on the opposition is as blatant as you can get really. Then joking about it in meetings with memes just ****s any argument they have.

Financial breaches can be argued much more easily as mistakes/hands were tied (even if the club set out to deliberately break the rules it is much easier to hide that). The competitive advantage doesn’t come into it when it comes to the breaking of the rules, you either did or didn’t do it. Whether the panel considers the competitive advantage is up to them
I mean, it's quite hard to mistakenly spend tens of millions of pounds.

The advantage doesn't come into it in terms of breaking the rules but the advantage gained should factor into the punishment. If you overspend the financial limits by £1 that's not the same as overspending by £100m. In the same way, I actually think the spying on Oxford is the worst of the 3 times we've admitted to. There's are dozens of Boro and Ipswich games our people could watch and analyse so the advantage gained by watching training is minimal. With Oxford they had a new manager so watching them would be more of an advantage. I would also have thought it's at least somewhat relevant that Tonda wasn't happy with the quality of information that was gathered but that might be pushing it a bit!

I think we have to assume all these 'reports' from the players are largely completely fabricated, or greatly exaggerated. Right now the vultures are circling, and we're not able to put up much of a fight.
I would assume that if our players can do this then players from other clubs would also be able to do it. Leicester wouldn't have been relegated without the 6 point deduction for financial irregularities but nobody has suggested their players will be taking legal action.

One thing someone’s just mentioned to me. I think most people agree that we wouldn’t have just spied on Oxford, Ipswich and Boro, these were just the cases they had evidence for in a short space of time.

If other clubs wanted to dig deeper with more time to do it and find evidence we did do it more than the 3 games, then we could potentially be punished more? Could it lead to lawsuits if we get caught doing it on multiple occasions so the likes of Wrexham could say we shouldn’t have been in the playoffs because of the points deduction? Or possibly a -2 per game (as per the -4 penalty already given) so we start next season -40 or something
