The whole "Eckert didnt know the rules" is surely bollocks though.

He's not exactly new to English football; he was assistant manager at Barnsley a few years back. You cant tell me he didnt know the rules then?

I still don't know how Middlesbrough can be put through to the final, when the EFL let two games go ahead (as I've mentioned many times). If they beat Hull, you'd think they would make a case that they lost to a team that shouldn't have been in the final?
We beat them because we cheated ( or at least that's the decision), so they absolutely deserve the right to continue in the competition. The fairest would be for them to play the 7th placed team over two legs, but no one has time for that. But our cheating shouldn't deny Boro the chance to be promoted.

Yep. Tonda admitting he has done this will be the end of it and him. No way the appeal gets overturned because they will just make the point that the punishment is simply a forefeit of the game that we cheated. Nothing more than that. Its inconceivable that nobody knew we were breaking the rules and we've been caught doing it, so unlike FFP where accountants can move a few million and hide a few million and argue over minutiae for years we are basically ****ed.

This is why I had been so confident of an over turn, because the evidence that was available made it seem like it was a one off. But Tonda admitting to it, even he wasn't doing it with any malice, isn't an excuse for not knowing the rules, especially when his backroom staff are filled with EFL coaches.

Hull City fan in peace.
I hope all your family are ok, but particularly your oldest son.
My oldest Grandson is autistic and likes to occasionally go with me to games, and even when he isn’t going he likes to talk about the fact he has done and that we go together.
I’m even having to try and grow an apple tree from seeds he kept from a free apple he got from the kids fruit box at a game! :emoticon-0111-blush
Different point really but the club have been fantastic with him (sensory room access, dedicated parking spot, showing him round days before games so he knows where he is going and sitting before anyone else is in the stadium etc)
I really feel for you, and can imagine how hard this is for him and you.
Sending you all my best wishes.
Take care
My son is autistic and this is exactly the kind of thing he would make me do!

I bought us tickets today and will have to break this news to him.

Looking ahead to next season as well, its going to be a ****show isnt it?

A pissed off, angry fanbase.
No manager.
No director of football.
Backroon Staff upheaval.
Boardroom upheaval.
Player upheaval.
Remaining players may well be disenchanted.
Downs & Bazunu will be back.

I honestly think theres going to be such a huge fallout from this, and i genuinely wouldnt be surprised if we just bob and drop league positions, to be honest, over the coming years.

The fairest option would be send up Hull automatically, but the EFL won't do that because of the money/sponsors that they will lose. I think Boro being given a bye to the final is just as unjust as us getting kicked out of it.

We'll see. Good thing is, we're suffering this in the Championship and not the Prem. All we need in the Champ, is to keep most of the squad together (we will), hire a decent manager (eek), and finish bloody 8th (not hard).

I could cope with the first 7 but that would be unbearable.

Mate, we beat them because we were better than them. Only marginally better, but we beat them on the pitch, where it matters. Having spied on Ipswich and Oxford we failed to beat them, so spying obviously doesn’t ****ing work. Which makes you wonder why we bothered, but ffs no way do Middlesborough deserve to be anywhere near Wembley

Was going to share similar sentiment but nothing much to add other than, at least the people responsible appear to have owned it allowing it to be resolved swiftly, and not tried to throw the young lad under the bus, bullshit their way out of it and drawn it all out. It’s better for everyone this way than in two weeks being found guilty and stripped of your promotion should you have won.

Hope the club will do something for those of you that will lose out financially, and try to make amends for all the disappointment.

Why is it? I know we are supposed to dislike them at the moment, but they've been cheated. Why should they suffer because of our cheating?

Yep We have contradicted ourselves too.

Eckert Saying not aware of the rule? and yet we are being told it only happened at Oxford and Ipswich.

If he thought this was ok, it deffo didn't just happen on 2 other occasions

On a side note…

At least we might give the youngsters a proper chance next season!

Bragg has been quality this year & if Oyekunle can score half as much as he has at youth level then we’re in for a treat
