This club will be the death of me.

This T’ill the End stuff has to stop! I think it’s only about 4 seasons since 1973 when haven’t either been promoted , relegated or fight to stay up, or go up, or even in the two 7th place finishes and now this year , fighting for a place in Europe, in the last week of the season.

Not good for my heart!

There’s that tiny bit of pain that we genuinely could have spawned CL.

I suppose all clubs can point to members but as it’s our team you think Diarra scores at Villa and we get what we deserve last weekend and we’d be going for CL next week.

Mad to be even a point of thought.

Mind, that would have involved Arteta ball beating football beauty in PSG which I just can’t imagine.

It's true that we need snookers now Dave, but so do snooker players!

Yes, Spurs can do us a favour as can Man Utd, etc.

Even Newcastle can help by drawing at Fulham, both on 49 points so could cancel each other out.

Liverpool could beat Brentford as a favour to us ...

... after all it's what Bob Paisley would've wanted <cheers>

No mate sadly.

There’s no set of circumstances that we go to 9th.

The spot for 9th in theory was given to Shakhtar on ‘coefficient’ after Palace beat them.

Would have needed Palace top 8 for top 9 to have a spot.

We finishing 7th anyway so it doesn’t matter to us.

Unfortunately it doesn't go like that. The lowest it can go is 8th. If as you say happens England would simply forfeit a Europa League spot. It sucks i know as would open up a lot more permutations for us but unfortunately it is what it is.

If it helps you feel better, and it usually does the trick for me, it’s that every team has points and thoughts like this for every season, ‘if only we’d won that game instead of drawn’ ‘imagine if we hadn’t conceded that last minute goal against X’ etc

The table never lies, and teams get what they deserve over a full season. You finish where you finish for a reason.

It’s been a cracking season regardless of the final day, but here’s hoping for Europe next year

Whilst a European spot would be brilliant, I’m still buzzing that we’re not involved in a relegation battle and have unearthed players that other clubs will be fighting over. For the first time in many years, I’m looking forward to actually competing in the PL rather than simply survival.
