Sunderland welcome Manchester United to the Stadium of Light in the Premier League.
Last time out Sunderland drew at Wolves and Manchester United beat Liverpool.
Regis le Bris' side missed the chance to climb to ninth spot and keep pace with the sides in contention for a European place, remaining 12th in the Premier League and four points adrift of the top six.
Nordi Mukiele's first-half header gave Sunderland a 17th-minute lead, before fellow defender Dan Ballard was dismissed for pulling Tolu Arokodare's hair just seven minutes later.
Santi Bueno's second-half leveller - a header from a Hugo Bueno corner - earned rock-bottom Wolves a point with their first goal in 47 days.
The Black Cats, though, will look at Ballard's dismissal as key after dropping points at Molineux, with the centre-back the second player this season to be sent off for the same offence on Arokodare.
Nordi Mukiele dislocated a finger and Brian Brobbey looked like he suffered a leg injury before being subbed off. Dan Ballard is suspended.

Kobbie Mainoo celebrated his new contract by scoring the winner that swept Manchester United back into the Champions League as they clinched a five-goal thriller against Liverpool at Old Trafford.
United led 2-0 at the break, thanks to early goals from Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.
However, Liverpool turned the contest on its head immediately after half-time as Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo capitalised on errors to level.
But in a frenzied finish, Liverpool failed to clear Luke Shaw's cross and the ball fell kindly for Mainoo on the edge of the area and he crashed a first-time effort into the bottom corner.
Sesko will be assessed this week.

Regis le Bris:
“The standards were back. We dominated the opening stages and deservedly took the lead. The red card changed the flow of the game and allowed them to build momentum with the extra man.”
“We adjusted our structure in the second half and still managed to create chances. I was pleased with the way we played together. After conceding nine goals in the previous two games, it wasn’t easy to predict how we would respond today.”
“We understand the rule, but it’s difficult to accept because there was no intent. The rule is the rule - when you’re up against a striker with long hair, situations like that can happen."

Michael Carrick:
“He (Sesko) got a bang on his shin when he fell down the side of the pitch, It’s something that he’s been carrying for a little bit as well, so we’ve had to manage him a bit but he’s certainly had a bang right on the same spot.
"It’s as simple as that really."
"He's been carrying a bit of a shin problem for some time and it was when we got pushed into the hoarding and down the dip. So that was it."

My two pence:
Hopefully Dan Ballard only misses the one game.
Carrick seems to have got Man Utd. back to playing decent football and this will probably be our toughest challenge in the last 3 games.
I’m going for a 2-1 home win.

I'm catching an early train up for this one, and then back down on the Grand Central.

Thank you Legend (RTB) for match thread.

The only change to your team I would play Angullo if fit instead of Riggy...Rigg to come on later in the game.

Having Talbi on one wing and Angullo on the other let's us get the ball out wide early and get it into the Beast in the box as quick as we can.

Going for 2 - 0......Brobbey and Xhaka....HTL!!!!

Great thread @RTB as always! Thank you....you're an institution on here...long may it continue!
I'm hoping that, following the point at Wolves,we are able to relax a little and play our football. They've got some good players and Carrick's got into them,so it's not going to be easy, but we too can play some good stuff. We'll miss big Dan for sure, but 2-2 is my prediction.

It’s a strange place for me for the rest of season.

I’m just gonna enjoy the 2 big home games and appreciate what the lads have achieved.

Be a good game. They very decent at the moment so it’s a tough game. There’s a hope maybe they a little more relaxed with CL secured and we have more to fight for.

My head says a 2-2 draw but any result is plausible.

I’ll be giving a raucous WMS for first home game after Forest for sure.

Can see us going with that lopsided 5 at the back

Brilliant thread again RTB. Thank you for your time and effort.

This is going to be a tough game, but so far of the 'Big' teams, only Liverpool have got the better of us at home.

If we can get a point against Arsenal and Man City, we can get one against United.

They come into this game in good form, whereas we have faltered a bit, but I think luck hasn't really been on our side since the Tottenham game. An excellent comeback against Villa spoilt by a lucky goal. Forest had 6 shots on target and scored from 5 of them. Controlling the game at 1-0 up against Wolves until we were the victim of VAR overreacting.

Maybe our luck will change and we score one off someone's arse, but if we keep it tight at the back and defend corners better than we have been, there's no reason why we can't get something from this game. My head says 1-1, but my heart says 2-1 thanks to a deflection off Maguires arse.
