I’ve never like Vicario, don’t rate him at all and think he’s too panicky to be a top keeper, I really feel he doesn’t make his defenders feel confident.

De Zerbi has done well as manager so far. He’s got faults but levels above Tudor and Frank.

If Spurs survive then he will deserve to be backed in the summer (both sales and purchases)
I think Vicario is a top ten goalkeeper in the league. Spurs need a top six. When we had prime Hugo we had a top two as only De Gea was better in my opinion.

Vicario has his faults but I think like most players over the last two years, the ridiculous coaching (or lack of) has made a good number look worse than they are, the confidence of so many players has been shot. De Zerbi seems to be rebuilding it brick by brick though, it may still be too late but like I said earlier there’s at least a bit of hope now.

I don't think we will find another Ledley

Will miss VdV
If we stay up, and it's still a big if, I still expect to lose Romero regardless. I'm less sure about VdV going for some reason, but even so, we will have Danso and Dragusin left, with a developing Phillips and most importantly, the chance to bring Vuskovic into the ranks.
Ledley King was a unique talent, but the latter has the capacity to be a very special player.

Regardless, we won't have European football next year, which will likely act as a deterrent to get/keep players, but I'm sure that we should still be able to pick up an experienced CB to provide some additional stability. (Ben Davies will still be on the books, although tbh, much as I admire him as a player and individual, I think his playing days are probably behind him)

Of course, should the worst happen, then all bets are off!! <yikes>

I saw a Spurs TEAM, they seemed to know what they needed to do and what to expect of their team mates. For most of this season they have looked lost.
Green shoots certainly! They played some cohesive attacking football and the passion was evident: Porro, Palhinha especially, but you could see it from 1-14. Tel is a very mature 19 year old and seems to take responsibility and Richarlison, for all his faults, is a workhorse and sets a good example.
It's bizarre in many ways when you consider the passion-less tripe that has been produced for many months. And they say that the game is played on grass, but a large % is surely played in the head.

I reckon we’ll sell Dragusin if we stay up. Though IF we do survive, Senesi joins, likewise Robertson.

Two excellent freebies. Don’t get why we don’t tap into the freebie market more. There’s always some really good deals to be had.

If van de Ven and Romero do indeed both go as I expect, Stones will be available on a free. More a riskier signing than some due to his injuries but a very decent CB.

<laugh>.

I did used to like Vic and still think he cops a bit too much flack, like I said if he done those kicks instead of Kinsky there’d be four or five on here calling for him to burned at the stake but he definitely needs moving on. Rumours he’s agreed terms with Inter anyway so that’ll be good.

But all seriousness I really do think De Zerbi more than any player deserves the plaudits so far. Gallagher’s post-match comments today really sounds like the players already love him and have taken to him. I don’t think we ever really had any positive comments from them with Frank or Tudor which is telling.
It was noticeable how few players posted messages when Frank was sacked

When Ange went, almost the entire squad posted something

I hadn’t really assessed how much of a genius chess move that was by Villa yesterday.
It’s one thing resting their players so they’re fresh for Thursday, but the nature of them playing us, as well as Forest playing today was a stroke of genius.
They’ve forced Forest to play a decent side today by giving us 3 points, and meaning Forest are now looking over their shoulder in the premier league. Which in turn, means that their strongest players are very likely to be playing tonight (as they can’t afford to rest them) and Thursday, which is great news for Villa in terms of forest’s fatigue, and over turning the 1-0 deficit.

Interesting thought.

Wouldn't put it past Emery, who is known for his meticulous planning and attention to detail.

Also seem totally indifferent to the cauldron of boos and fury all around him on the touchline.

I found the Villa fans' behaviour shocking. We've been criticised often this season for not getting behind the team, but we haven't been sitting in the top 5 all season on the brink of a major cup final. To leave the stadium after 25mins is madness.

If they do not finish in the PL top 5,
nor beat Forest in the EL tie, it may
have been too great a risk.

< time will tell >

That’s taking the IF to the extremes of probable though.
You might as well just say if West Ham get less points.
Spurs really should be safe now. Big swing this weekend, but it can change again.

At the start of each match round, you have
clubs who still have something to play for /
lose (mathematically so) , and those who do not.

If you are in the former, then the more
remaining opponents you have in the latter,
the better your chances are of success.

So as of today, Kings Rd FC could still qualify for
the CL, and Forest need 7 pts to guarantee
escaping relegation.

So much of this crap on the socials today, you would have thought that Villa had played the kids yesterday of the 7 changes 6 were full internationals, yes they were terrible but we deserve some credit for taking them to task in the opening 30 minutes and not allowing them to find any rhythm.

That is a very interesting take on it that I had not really thought about until you mentioned it! If that was intentional, and they win on Thursday then it's a stroke of genius.... <laugh>

You must remember the rules that whenever we do well it is purely due to some massive issue with the opposition. If we get past Leeds on Monday there will be similar headlines...

Agreed, but in this scenario it was stated above that GD would matter.

Clever stuff Roo :emoticon-0148-yes: If was any other manager I would be sceptical but Unai Emery is well known for his meticulous planning.

Such transfers usually involve huge sums being paid to players and, more relevant to COYS Daniel, their agents.

That, he just wouldn't do. Having principles is nice, even laudible, but if they stop you from doing your job properly...you're in the wrong ****ing job.

Anyone else think it's unfair to give Forest the Monday game. Villa having 24 hours more rest is an advantage.
