Hard luck to Rochdale today in today’s title deciding match vs York.

Still, on the bright side they can say they have the player with surely the best name in football- their keeper is Oliver Whatmuff. :1980_boogie_down:
I must admit, I had a chuckle at that name when I first saw it. My missus was nonplussed when I pointed it out. We must be big kids, eh?

I'm backing Southend for the play-offs.

I was hoping against hope for a Southampton v Leeds FA Cup Final.
I think for millions of neutral fans that would have been really interesting.

But sadly we've just got another mega-money :emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash: bore-fest - Chelski vs Citeh :emoticon-0113-sleep
Well done the Saints & United for getting as far as they did.

Aside from Leeds fans, very very few are neutral when it comes to them. :emoticon-0138-think

So close to a victory for our ladies this afternoon. The euphoria after the penalty went in was as fugacious as it gets.

Still, a win against Brum on Saturday will secure the title. A draw will mean second place and automatic promotion (though this would likely mean Palace go up as champions at the very last hurdle).

Roll on Saturday and a trip to The Valley.

COYA!

Will be gutting if they lose and have to go into the play offs, after being top all season.

I think CAFC women would have a fair chance of winning the play-off though, even if they are forced to take that route.
There is not a huge gulf in player quality between the lower parts of the WSL and the WSL2.

Only a huge gulf between the elite top 4 in the WSL and the rest of that league.

Interesting - that these women's football matters have not been posted in the Charlton Athletic women & women's football thread.

An oversight?
Or steps towards a wider recognition that women's football is as worthy of general debate as the men's game?

I suspect the former. In which case I'll move these most recent posts to the womrn's football thread later.
Please share your thoughts though...

Would be against Leicester City who this season have P19, W2, D3, L14 and have just 1 win since the middle of September.

Oops, wrong thread:1980_boogie_down:

Big game tonight in the Championship; Saints vs Ipswich

Has to be a Tractor Boys' win if Millwall are to be prevented from nabbing 2nd place.
If Ipswich do win they'll be 3 points up on the Spanners, and with a massively better GD. Job done :1980_boogie_down:

Mainoo signs a new 5 year contract :emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash:

That's the last we'll hear of him then <doh>

I am very happy that Sheffield Wednesday will not be deducted 15 points at the beginning of next season in League One.
The EFL has shown that it does have some Human beings running it after all.

Good luck to the Owls with their new owners.
And I hope Chansiri sees no more money from them.

A proper football club, a cracking ground, Kelham Island.
What more can you want?

I was wondering whether it would be worth creating a thread dedicated to our pre-season friendlies.

It would be handy to know who we are playing and who is lining up for us as we build for the new campaign.

What say you?

Do it by all means.

Seems natural to have all pre-season matters together on a thread.
We've probably done it in previous seasons.
