It’s the hubris of it all.

There’s a scene in that film about Sarah Palin where she announces her intention to do a concession speech and the guy in charge of her campaign team just says ‘No. Absolutely not. Never in the history of the United States of America has a vice presidential candidate given a concession speech on election day. John McCain will do the concession speech and you will keep ****ing quiet’.

Someone just needs to tell Acun to stop being a ****.

Given that 64.6% of naysayers on here* don't have us down to beat Norwich, why all the pearl clutching? :emoticon-0138-think

Keep in mind that the club postponed the player awards ceremony until after the final game of the season; the reason being that the club didn’t want the players to have any distractions.

This is purely him wanting his ego stroked. A complete and utter tosser.
I don't think that in isolation is necessarily a hugely hypocritical thing. The POTY awards night would've involved the players attending, and cancelling it gives them one less distraction to think about during the week. The Q&A doesn't involve them and shouldn't affect them.

I'm slightly surprised people are so universally annoyed about it. When I saw the tweet about it I just thought oh that'll be nice to spend the night at the stadium with other City fans ahead of a big game as sort of an extended build-up, and then I booked my tickets. Maybe I'm wrong but i just didn't think anything negative about it until coming on here.

It shouldn't be an issue at all, but let's be fair, Acun has previous form on these kinds of events. If he really wanted to do it or felt it was needed, do it directly after the game

Certainly if he was to make any sort of dodgy comments like that again then that would be very poor. I don't think that makes the concept of a Q&A necessarily a terrible idea though, nor is it hypocritical against the postponed POTY awards night in my opinion. To be honest those kinds of comments are piss poor even if you do it after the season ends like last time.

He has been reading these boards and since the whole lot of us dont fancy our chances against Norwich on Saturaday, he is going to say that he does not believe the naysayers and has he fullest confidence in the players and management team including Sergei and wants us all to get behind the team and provide a rousing and uplifting atmosphere in the stadium. A rallying call. He will end with “A day may come when the courage of men fails… but it is not tomorrow!”

The concept of a q&a is great idea ( I never said it was ) and an end of season one would be great, the timing is just stupid and pointless

What comment is piss poor?

I think it (rightly) shows a lack of trust in Acun's ability to not say something daft.

its pretty obvious
hes flying in friday
doing the q+a

watching the game, flying back after

the q+a will only be bad if he badmouths some players which i highly doubt he will

much ado about nothing in my honest opinion

if the highly paid 'pros' will be distracted by this, thats just an excuse if we fail to win another ****ing game
fact

The only negative is it would be far more relevant after the game, potentially in a few more weeks when we know what division we’re in. Most of the discussion will probably hinge around what-if’s.

And gentlemen in Hull now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd that they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speak
That watched with us on Hull City's day. :emoticon-0138-think
