I mean if a player only consistently plays 15 games a season for 3/4 years there’s obviously a problem. Collyer and Famewo fit that bracket. They just seem to pick up injuries or knocks.

Age may be catching up with Ajayi. To be honest I hope Belloumi and Matazo go injury free the next few games. A big pre season for them would make a massive difference. Drameh is another but not to the extent of Colleyer an Famewo.
That's just nonsense about Collyer!! He hasn't even been playing senior football for "3/4 years"!!
He only got promoted to Man Utd's 1st team squad in 24 / 25 , as a 20 y.o., making his PL debut in Sept 24 !! He wasn't going to get that many games for them.
He was loaned to WBA in 25/26 and got that calf injury, which resurfaced when he joined us. That's ONE injury!!
He then had the collision with Philips in training resulting in his current ankle injury. A freak accident.
Famewo I get, and Drameh to a lesser degree (but even he's played way more than "15 games for 3/4 years" ), but Collyer really doesn't fit that bracket ...... at least not yet :emoticon-0105-wink: #TWT.

Whenever Famewo has played I think he's been solid and obviously played out of position and youre giving him a bad rap. I think the injuries in part are due to 10 minutes here and 20 minutes there and coming on cold. I've never understood that players who might be coming on are not on spin bikes for 15 minutes instead of sitting on their arses, especially when its cold. How can someone come on when the game is at full tilt having had a little stretch and jog along the touchline and be expected to be at it... someone with experience will tell me it makes no difference of course.

I think there's an argument that people are being harsh on him, and maybe he can get fully fit and reliable next season, but you're being a bit kind with your summary there. He had a calf injury at WBA which we were told he was over when he joined. That turned out to keep him out for a good few weeks, and several more before he could start a game, then when he did start, he immediately missed the next game with another new injury, then as he was recovering from that was when he had the incident with Phillips which injured his ankle. So three separate injuries, one which was an extension of the one he came with that he was supposedly already over. It's not a great record however you look at it, but hopefully this season isn't the norm for him.

Looks like Matazo might have done his other ACL. Judging by his Instagram post

“Difficult to find the words, this one is just above my understanding… I leave it up to god, he knows the why.
Overcame this injury once, I will do it twice. I thank you all for the messages and prayers.
See you soon, Be blessed”

Was very obvious it was bad
Doubt he will play for us again

Why the heck did they start him. This is on the management and doctors for me. I mean 4 minutes.

Because instead of going "no, you aren't ready", they let the player decide he was ready. It's one thing for a player to say he feels good, it's another for a medical professional to give him the all clear to play games again. This was my worry about Hirokawa. These medical decisions have been ****ing appalling.

The fact that it was labelled a risk should have told everybody at the club that he wasn't ready. We saw what happened to Sinik, yet we risked it anyway.
