If they keep Parker you'd definitely expect them to. More uncertain if they don't.

If they haven’t sacked him yet then seems odd to do it now, but who knows. This their third first season relegation after promotion? Seem to have the formula for bouncing straight back

Doubt they'll sack him but football clubs make weird choices all the time. Could also get poached.

Im not convinced Burnley will be as good as they were in the previous Championship season. Dont think they will get the auto spots, perhaps playoffs.

It is why this year has been mega frustrating to me - we ****ed up appointing Still, ****ed up keeping him so long, ****ed up with Bazunu, and you could argue ****ed up not signing a better striker in the summer window (Larin has been excellent since Jan).

And next season you could argue the relegated teams could easily take all 3 spots for promotion.

And as funny as it would be, I am not certain I want Spurs to go down for one of those promotion spots.

I agree. Right now it’s very hard to not look past Wolves and Burnley bouncing straight back, and whoever the other relegated side is also looking far too strong in comparison to the Champ, even factoring in players leaving etc. Forest probably the team in my view who would be the weakest coming down.

But a lot can change over the summer, if we don’t go up this season then I’d hope with the playoffs expanding we’d still have a decent shot at getting into them

I'd give us more than a decent shot. Should be a minimum expectation to get 8th.

I think it'll be interesting to see what Wrexham and Brum do this summer. Have to imagine they'll spend a lot.

Yeah I forgot about the expanded playoffs bit. Still only 3 going up though.

I wouldn't be surprised if we do go for it and spend this summer. Partially to replace losing some players but also to improve the quality.

I doubt Peretz will stay when we don't go up, but hoping Larin will join and that if we are in the Championship that Ross gets a short deal (I get he may not want a 12-24 month extn). I wouldn't want Ross in the EPL in the unlikely event we go up.

Agree with Forest - they were the ones I was hoping for as I can see them capitulating if they went down.

Would be funnier just for the Lols to see their fatty chairman losing his **** too. I bet he would jump up and down. And give his fists a good shaking at the team.

Too early to say, but yeah I had Brum and Wrexham going for it this summer, and if Ipswich don’t go up then they’ll be up there as well.

Agree the expectation should be top 8, but I’m still on the fence about what we do this summer if we don’t go up. My feeling is about half the current “best” side won’t stay if we don’t and then it’s all about how we recruit

Yeah the second paragraph could be true, and SR have never shied away from spending in their time here. They can look at it either way, go for it in the summer, or use it as a bit of time to get our wage bill in line with the rest of the league before the parachute payments end.

The team will definitely be weaker next season if we don't go up.

Yeah and the division overall will be stronger. This year is the first year in a long time where there hasn’t been a couple of teams who basically storm it. Cov have pretty much walked it and, with 2 games to go, they still haven’t surpassed the points total that third got last season (albeit they likely will by the end)

If we recruit well then who knows, but yeah all this talk is proper guesswork right now due to loads of factors
