My initial thought was why the **** is he even there and where are our forwards?
Just out of curiosity, who in the squad this season who's been readily fit and available has a better reputation than say, Delap, Carvalho, Philogene, Greaves, Morton?
The only one I can think of is probably McBurnie.
Belloumi was largely untested in this league. Millar isn't regarded in the same bracket.
You'd be clutching at straws with Lundstram.
Possibly Egan?
Giles isn't a possibility as he was also an option for Rosenior who couldn't get a tune out of him.
What the manager has done with the tools available is outstanding to be honest.

Most of the players you cite were also largely unproven and not highly rated going into that season, it was with us that some of them proved themselves. And the caveat of fit and readily available, if applied the same way, would also take Delap out as we missed him badly for a large chunk of that season. Philogene for a couple of months too.
I keep saying it but it makes me cringe so much seeing City fans gleefully accept 7th as a wonderful season when Ryan Longman is above us and Alex Neil's Millwall are 2nd.
As I said last night during the game, Millar is the most frustrating player we have, I’d say 20% of his shots & crosses are good in the time he plays each game.
The choices he makes are bizarre at times. Last night he was I acres of space at least 3 times when the ball wasn’t played to him, maybe others choices could have been better too.
I still think when Koumas came on he should have been in behind McB & Gelhardt on the right, I don’t think the penalty happens in that scenario if the roles are reversed.
I’m not saying anything more about Ajayi, he’s just slightly less frustrating than Millar.
Finally, Egan pushed up front, where was Koumas? Defending? Egan up front?
The whole game had numerous moments of WTF, probably the most frustrating game this season IMO!

Delap, Morton and Philogene all came to us with an average or slightly below average record in the Championship. Greaves clearly had potential, but I would say probably was about where Hughes is now at the start of that season.
Carvalho probably had a similar reputation as Gelhardt did when he came to us this season - both had had half impressive early promise in the Championship.
Belloumi and Millar clearly were big players who we missed - but were Lokilo/Zaroury better? I appreciate Sergej has had a problem getting them on the pitch together but Rosenior had similar problems with Delap and Jaden at the end of the season.
Are Lundstram and Seri that much different? Both have moved clubs a lot but both had success at other Championship clubs and are of similar age.
People were happy to see the back of Jones and Macca, so are we saying Ajayi, Egan, Famewo and McNair are better options? People were also keen to see Allsopp leave and Pandur come in.
Tufan is maybe the X Factor that this season hasn't had - but I do think depth wise this squad is better off - especially at CB.
I think its all splitting hairs but when you line up the squad at the start of the season before their reputations were enhanced, its much of a muchness.
No but it's indicative of how little it actually takes. People thought Longman wasn't good enough for us when we were a bottom half side. Since then we've iterated in improving the squad multiple times and now have far better players than him, yet a side with him in is above us and now likely to beat us to the playoffs. So when we talk down our own chances because of the limitations of X or Y player we should remember that the standard is nowhere near as high as we make out.
I know a lot on here dont like posters harping on about Rosenoir. However, I have to say when he was manager we played some of the best football I have seem City play. In his first full season he almost managed to get us to the playoffs finishing 7th. Under Jackarovic I have seen City play some of the worst football I have seen them play ride their luck for a while and get into a position where we still can get in the playoffs. I hope not but it looks like our luck has ran out and we will miss the playoffs once again. If we dont make the playoffs and I were Acun I would be looking for a new manager.
