I think he'll get a manager's job in the summer.

Sounded like he was tempted by the offer in Turkey, but not quite right/wanted to finish the season here.

Despite the wheels falling off for us, whatever happens, hope we keep Serge and back him in the summer.
He has earned the right to sign players without restrictions (not sure the mad turk will stay out of it but who knows) but he needs to start behaving like a manager and not a spoilt baby in the dugout. And if there is a 'culture' it needs addressing.
Not so sure he has much credit left in the bank since christmas. We've looked so patchy, at times we've looked dire.

If Slater hadn't been injured we'd have made it. We have the players in our squad, they've just been injured at the worst possible times.
I don't WANT to be critical, but our 'Big' players haven't been good enough. My biggest criticism is aimed at Coyle. He's not a 'Captain' and isn't a very good football player at the required standard. I've played with less clumsy Full Backs in the Sunday League.

He is far too lenient with the players and they take advantage. It's weird because in the summer he seemed quite strict when it came to negotiations with both Giles and McBurnie on their futures but it's as if he's taken it easy because of our good form on the pitch rather than sticking with what had been working.

What did he do? Heard he got a red card and he didn’t come over to the fans after the game. Didn’t even see.

Also didn’t see what happened to Joffy in the first half, guessing he was covered in blood?

And that challenge on crooks in the middle looked a nailed on red in the flesh.

It's looked unlikely we'd win the playoffs for a while, but we really should've been in them. Another annoying thing about not being, assuming we don't, is that it allows us to continue this small time attitude of looking at the playoffs as some kind of pipe dream for little old us. I remember last season people talking about players like Slater as not good enough for a team with serious promotion ambitions and I kept arguing that he'd been a regular in a team that finished 7th the year prior, but people seemed to forget that and accepted the relegation battle as our and his level. That attitude continued into this season with the transfer embargo and still lingers now to an extent with all the "what a wonderful season it's been, no one expected this" stuff. If we'd finished 4th or 5th as it looked like we would two or three months ago I think some people would've started to take us more seriously both inside our fanbase and outside the club, and to realise that the playoffs aren't some exclusive space only for the very elite.

Just showed him flapping his arms and ranting at some poor soul, the ref minced over and gave him a red.

Blood was spilt on his kit which led to him having to wear Charlie Hughes shorts.

Agree re the challenge on crooks but the ref apparently doesnt like tall people so he pretended he didnt see it properly.

In the top six for the last 26 weeks and as high as 3rd several times in that. In 23/24 we were top 6 for at most four weeks in a row and never higher than 6th at any stage. I don't care what anyone says this is a far worse drop off and a far worse capitulation.
This says it all

I think at the start he created an ‘us vs them’ mentality which worked. We had transfer restrictions, every man and his dog had us down for relegation and he basically told them to prove everyone wrong by being as competitive as possible under the circumstances. Since January, complacency kicked in by both the coaching staff and players. They all thought ‘****ing hell, can’t believe we’re in such a good position’. Too many jollies and days off as a reward for being in contention for top six by Christmas and almost no discipline, standards or professionalism. Jakirović and his staff keep getting bookings and sent off for their antics on the touchline, players and staff start getting in brawls with the opposition like Birmingham, Stoke and Preston away, players pick up unnecessary bookings, do reckless challenges in our own box and of course, go on the piss before and after games.

We’ve been in the top six for four months (four ****ing months). They thought they had it in the bag. These dog ****e performances and results for months were unacceptable but nobody thought to read them the riot act because they assumed it would all be okay. I mean, we’ve played **** for months but scraped enough to still be top six until tonight. Well, now we aren’t in the top six and there are two games left.

I’m quite astounded at the arrogance of them all. There’s no other way to explain why we’ve fallen off this drastically. I’m going to keep mentioning Coyle because he is the club captain and that does mean something, even if people want to pretend it’s just ‘scapegoating’. How ****ing thick do you have to be to go out to some ****ty bar the same day after such a disappointing performance and result against Brum at home when there is another important game in a few days and you know people in the town centre will recognise you and even record you? This is after he was spotted and recorded with a protective boot on after a game several months before. The guy is a grade A arsehole.

On a plus point, with us missing the playoffs, we can at least keep our 100% record of getting promoted when we’ve been in the Championship playoffs! <cheers>

Still think we'll make the playoffs - can't see Coventry letting Wrexham wreck their promotion party and trophy presentation at their last home game of the season - think we'll beat Charlton - they're definitely on the beach which will leave just Norwich, by which time their playoff hopes will have gone so they will have nothing to play for - dare to dream - it ain't over yet

Odd isn't it?
I think if we'd just meandered around midtable all season or between 7th and 10th I'd be fine with it. But we've shown we're a good side earlier in the season but come nowhere near those levels for months and completely collapsed. I think that's it for me. Plus it's Wrexham we'll lose out to who I don't like anyway, and we've beaten twice already with them looking **** both times.
