Most of the gents urinals were positioned near bus terminals, mainly the old trolley buses. There was also one near George Pub at the top of Walton Street but like the pub its now gone, same on Chanterlands Avenue near the railway bridge. Another one at the Anlaby Rd end of Walton Street, one on Cottingham Rd near the bus depot across road from Gardeners pub, and one on Beverley rd just before the Greenwood Avenue crossroads. All closed down and demolished to save money.
The one worth keeping if only as a tourist attraction is the gents under the King Billy Statue on Lowgate with the goldfish swimming in the tanks above the urinals. Remember the beautiful Victorian tiles and gleaming brasswork in there, all kept clean by the attendant, but like all the others it has been closed for years, there is a similar one on Baker Street ( closed) and one still in operation near The Minerva pub. The Black Horse pub in Whitby used to have a photograph of that one on their wall. It is still considered as a tourist attraction today!
Some older posters might recall an article on Hull's lost urinals in one of the early City fanzines?
