Very much a thing of the past nowadays in most towns and City's.There used to be some very old ones in Glasgow,immaculately kept by a toilet attendant,all padlocked and left to decay and rot now!!!

50p for a p!ss now!!...So much for the old saying 'spending a penny':emoticon-0108-speec

Odd thing about the King Billy toilets, is that their listed and the Council keep them in full working order, so it's odd that they don't actually open them.

Just remembered a visit to the King Billy pub when it turned from a proper old fashioned boozer and one of my favourite haunts to a 'disco' pub when the shop next door was bought and the pub knocked through. They called it a 'sports bar' in its early days and had photographs of local sporting legends. You had to search hard to find the City one, which was a tiny black and white shot of Stuart Pearsons head and shoulders.
I digress now, but before that the 'old' pub had a fabulous array of framed Hull City programmes on the walls, going back to Raich Carters days, all of which went with the landlord, the now departed Alex Craig, big City fan, when he moved lock, stock and barrel to The Whalebone and as far as I know are still there but under lock and key because the pub has been sadly closed for some time.
Back to the disco pub. In there one night on a works do and busting for a piss, edged my way to the gents, floor two two inches deep in piss and both urinals were in use, as was the sink so pushed open the closet door only to find a young lady, on her knees in the piss, giving a bloke a blow job., and a bloke tapped me on the shoulder and said 'hurry up pal, I'm next'

There was toilets at the corner of greenwood ave and ellerburn ave under the doctors. There was a story of someone getting their cock chopped off in there, way back in the 1960s

Some years ago I was in Antwerp(up near the red light district,door slammed shut TwoWrights,just perusing) and I was bursting for a pee.I asked my Flemish mate and his Mrs if there were any toilets nearby?They pointed to this structure sitting slap bang in the middle of a pedestrian area,like a pole with 3 urinals attached....Just there was the answer.

I think they've came out of the dark ages a bit since then though and they've got some sort of screen round them nowadays...

I've always found that in Belgium in particular but France also to a lesser extent. They like to make toilets and urinals as open and visible to as many people as possible.

I remember in Lokeren in that big square there was a sort of open-air urinal structure not dissimilar to what you're describing.

I’m sure I remember in Amsterdam unrinals hidden underground but raise on a nighttime for when needed
