Should Newcastle replace Eddie Howe

PIF are apparently planning some big investment package or something and I just cannot believe they aren't even considering a change of head coach before they go ahead with it.

Seems mental to me.

But their lack of experience in this level of football will be showing, theyll be getting advised by some old football heads to not sack the coach or panic.

utterly ****ing mental, but from the press conference today thats exactly what’s happening on top of Wissa staying.

Going backwards is part of going forwards. We'll be fine.

We're already fine, mate, but I'm bolloxed if I'm going to be bored out of my ****ing skull waiting for better. Football's dull enough without having to watch Howe's 4-3-3 every week, with some of the dullest players I've ever seen in a Toon shirt. The thought of another season with Barnes, Wissa, Murphy, etc.......eurgh, no thanks.

We've been ****e for a long long time. So much so that I binned off my membership and stopped applying for tickets.
It's a challenging watch every week.
Bournemouth?

Same ****. Plucky triers but that’s who Howe is. Nothing wrong with it, but not one sane person on planet football puts Howe alongside Pep, Flick, Simeone, Xavi, Emery, etc. The club is now where we were under Ashley. Lifeless, treading water, bigging up crap players, fishing in relegation ponds.

For me, with the investment , Rafa would’ve done better than Howe. Any idiot thinking we can’t do better is off their head.

Why do people keep mentioning Xavi? I'm not saying he won't be good as a manager but managing Barcelona isn't that difficult.

I think being around that level of excellence and being so renowned individually is the point. It’s fantasy anyway, xavi isn’t going to look at Barnes, Murphy, Wissa and co with any sense of relish. We are so stuck thanks to Eddie and Andy, I’d be shocked if anyone decent would even want to come here. Once you take Tonali, Bruno, Hall and Tino out of this side we are relegation fodder. I’m actually dreading this summer, I think it’ll be the same if not worse than last time out.

So you're happy to have Gerrard then?

Look at Aston Villa and look at Crystal Palace. CP have won 2 cups and in a semi final of a European competition. They sold all these best players and spent a 1/3 less than Howe.

Howe won us the cup but spent 700m getting it He is good but has serious flaws. He is not elite and if we are going to be elite by 2030 then PIF need to aiming for an elite manager.

Howe was phase 1. Thanks for everything Howe but it's now time for Phase 2, moving from good to elite.

Post very rarely here but fell in love with Newcastle back in '93 seeing Cole and Beardsley banging in the goals for us. I've never given up throughout the Ashley years and relegations but I think I'm at the point where i actually don't care anymore - sick and tired of the dross served up each week. and it has gone beyond United. I detest modern football. I used to look forward to world cups but this one? Corporate America further laying waste to the game.

No. It has literally turned into billionaires paying millionaires to play increasingly predictable and turgid football, rules of the game changing every season, to mostly detrimental effect, cardboard cut out players with zero personality, only playing reasonably well when trying to get a move elsewhere, with corruption (refs and VAR, agents, dodgy owners) further ruining what used to be a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The game has changed far too much and I am reminded of a quote; "change is only good if it is positive". Well, it hasn't been. Players like Isak, Wissa and Gordon are particularly notable for being absolute stains on the sport and on our club but it feels there are and will be more and more examples like them to follow.
