I hate it when people blame their bad behaviour on conditions such as bipolar, autism etc. It's a load of bollocks and harms people who are genuinely living with such conditions.

surely i am not the only one that has seen a massive 'uptake' in such problems?

seems every parent has a child with ADHD or some mental health disorder, autism is rife, everyone wants to be 'on the spectrum' yet those who genuinely suffer end up bottom of the list for any help they need.

my son works for a call center and this one young lady has many demands while on shift, such as no one going near her and certainly never allowed to get close, cannot eat any of the foods brought in, phobias about most regular things within a call center type environment etc etc etc...yet arrange a staff 'get together and eat' and she is pushing others away to get first grabs at all the food and pretty much throwing herself into every situation she apparently hates.

being 'on the spectrum' is not a badge of honour for those who suffer.

Been saying for years that folk these days aren't happy unless they have an ism badge, or kids on a spectrum or some other new fancy problem.
I never knew any kids in our school with ' mental health issues', if you couldn't behave the teachers sorted you out and if you went whingeing to your parents you just invited another telling off/clout.
Knives weren't an issue either, fists did the job, you just stuck up for yourself.
The world today is a mess, parents sharing their financial & parenting problems with their kids....we we're never told of such issues you were protected by your parents.
Breakfast schools and food banks I could go on, society is a real mess these days, parenting skills are at an all time low looking for hand outs instead of providing for their own.
Rant over....it's been coming for a while.

a good few years ago i knew a family, won't say where, but they decided there was a problem with one of the kids (there was to be honest) but the end verdict was ADHD, next thing i knew they had the other lad straight to the doctors to get him 'diagnosed' and remarkably enough they ended up getting extra money because both lads had ADHD...a couple of months later and it seemed every kid in the estate had it, and i think that is a major part of the problem, free money.

Heard the other day ( on radio I think) that 1.7 million children are registered as having some disability. Wonder if that means 1.7 million will leave school and straight into a disability benefit lifetime

A lass in my street did. She was diagnosed with IBS, has never worked and claims disability benefits because of it. This really gets on my wick.

You can work if you have IBS as the employer has to provide reasonable adjustments so you can manage it.

Had a moment this week and tonight it has culminated in a lovely moment.

Passed up a directorship to go back to the ranks on the ground. I get to be fully remote and dont have to travel to Wales anymore.

The pay cut hurts, but its worth it to get to spend more time with family and friends.

The liberation of being home is worth more than the money

To add to that, told the kids and my lad admitted he regrets not spending more time with my dad and he was frustrated work affected the time we had together.

Fair broke me and if anything made me realise money is one thing but family is everything

It is mate, I know I could have moved jobs a long time ago for more money but the place I work at now is a perfect balance for me and my kids. I'm very lucky to have that.

Money certainly isn't everything and my family come before anything else. Nothing else will come close.

Another death caused by an out of control dog. When are we going to have a fit and proper owner test? It's not just the dog that needs to be licensed, it's the owner too. So soon after that poor bairn in Redcar.

I find this to be a bit of a coincidence, considering the new agenda that there are too many dogs in the uk and we are too dog friendly.
