I’ve said all along Hughes hasn’t been right lately. He’s always at his best when he’s really aggressive, I think the injury making him play at 60%.

Might help us too keep him, unless Fat Frank comes along with 20 million.

Charlie Hughes has a double hernia - and he’s playing despite the problem. The club will decide if he needs surgery in the summer, and will manage his minutes until then. - James Hoggarth.
Sergej himself said not too long ago that he had a hernia in his groin and would probably need surgery at the end of the season.

At least that offers some explanation for his recent performances and suggests that it isn’t just a significant drop in form.
Suspect that we’ll only see him from the bench in an emergency now during the remaining games.

City could be bolstered by the return of at least one or two faces next week when they take on Birmingham City at the MKM Stadium. That's because Ryan Giles is on the verge of a return to full fitness, while Yu Hirakawa is also closing on a return after missing the best part of two months with an ankle issue.

Darko Gyabi, Akin Famewo and Eliot Matazo aren't too far off a return to action either, with all three training with the first-team squad on Wednesday.
