It's a long time without any proper football.
Also as we have reached 43 points (my, we are safe total), we are out of the Cup...
Is Europe a possibility?

Europe is a realistic target for me, need to take the cautious brake off a bit especially at home.

It is. But there is a proper traffic jam in the middle of that table mind!

We've been great this season but, amazingly, we still haven't managed to win two on the trot. Mind, we hadn't done the double over anyone until Sunday!

I've had a look. Last year Forest finished seventh on 65 points. But it can be as low as Burnley in 2018-2019 who finished seventh on 54 points. The average over the last ten years is about 60 points.

So who can tell? It might not even be seventh, and it could be more or less anything in the above range. For eighth in the same period it is anything between 46 points and 60 points, the average being 55 points.

All in the air then. Not that bothered myself, as there are two sides to qualifying, though I see the fantastic reward for supporters, which in the end of course is what the whole thing is all about.

I think if we ended up in Europe, we'd handle it. We've handled everything else thrown at us and we have proper people running us now.

Thinking about what we need to qualify for Europe, it’s worth looking at the two years we finished 7th, not good enough back then, but would be this year.

In those two years we got 58 and 57 points. We have 53 now so to match the Peter Reid finishes we need 14/15 points from seven games.

Not easy but not out of the question.

However the last few years it has taken 60 points to finish 7th, 17 points from 7 games will be too much I think.

17 points is a stretch.....but 27 out of a possible 21 available is definitely impossible imo.

Don't think it will take anywhere near 60 points this season. It also looks likely 8th position will get European football
