... now some of our best players have had a good rest and we have a couple of weeks of coaching ahead.

Newcastle, the Mags and the pundits were all talking about their chances of Europe so I've no issues posting a thread.
(Anyone who's religiously committed to jinxes, bogey teams, lucky underpants and ex-Mags scoring against us should scroll on now.)

We have home games against Spurs, Forest, Man Utd and Chelsea ...

... with Villa, Wolves and Everton away.

There are 'six-pointer' games that could help us like Brentford v Everton, Brentford v Fulham, Everton v Liverpool, etc.

Arsenal are home to Bournemouth, Newcastle and Fulham which could easily go in our favour.

Man City are home to Palace and Brentford as well as Everton away.

We're in the mix as far as I'm concerned ...

... three points against Spurs, and other results going for us, could have us move up a couple more places.

Whatever happens I'm a believer and can't wait for Spurs!

Top 5 will qualify for the Champions League?
6th Place qualifies for the Europa League
If a Team that finishes in the Top 5 win the FA Cup, 7th Place will qualify for the Europa League
Man City as winners of the League Cup qualify for the Conference League, but if they finish top 5 their place in the Conference league will go to 8th place.

I think thats right from what I have read today

Would be brilliant us getting Europe and the scum languishing in the bottom half of the table. Would really top off an already great season.

As for transfers and who we could attract with European football, blows my mind. I'm already excited to see who we bring in but that would take it up another notch again. Bring it on!

Aye it could go down to 8th depending on who wins what

Champions League qualification​

The top four teams in the Premier League are guaranteed to reach the league phase of the Champions League. The side finishing fifth this season are also likely to because of the coefficient rankings.

The winners of the Champions League and Europa League will enter the league phase of the competition.

That means Aston Villa or Nottingham Forest can guarantee their involvement by lifting the Europa League trophy, as would any English team to win the Champions League but not finish in the top five.

FA Cup European qualification: Europa League​

The FA Cup winners qualify for the league phase of the Europa League, as will the sixth-placed team, assuming England gains five Champions League spots.

If the winners of the FA Cup have already qualified for European competition through their league position or another method, each spot goes to the next-highest team in the Premier League not to have qualified for Europe.

EFL Cup European qualification: Conference League​

The EFL Cup champions qualify for the Conference League play-offs, with their berth also going to the next-highest ranked team in the Premier League if they qualify for European competition via another method.

Should that be the case for both competitions, the team finishing seventh could qualify for the Europa League, with the eighth-placed team reaching the Conference play-offs.

The winners of the Conference League – potentially Crystal Palace, as England’s sole participants in this season’s competition – gain an extra Europa League place the following season.

Will eighth place in the Premier League qualify for Europe?​

That is likely to depend upon who wins the FA Cup. Should the victors have already qualified for Europe by finishing in the top six, eighth place is likely to ensure a Conference League play-off place.

Thats what I thought.
7th is a definite and 8th depends on the fa cup.

I'd like to get into Europe. Wont be disappointed if we dont. Would love to never hear that Town chant again. But Europa League or Conference cup could be a hindrance on our League form. Many teams suffer from second season syndrome. I would maybe like for us to prove that wont be the case before starting to think about Europe. Heart says 'Europe', head says 'Maybe not.....yet'. Whatever happens, great season.

To be fair we thought promotion might be 'a season too early' so I'll take the same view on Europe.

If the club want to go for it I'd trust them to build a suitable squad and recruit well.

Players like Talbi, Mayenda, Rigg, etc, have shown they feel included but prepared to wait then take their chances when they come. We beat a CL team away with the players available so we can't be too far away. Players like Cirkin, Isidor, etc, may come good but we've shown with Adingra that we'll act if things aren't right.

I have faith in the club so will enjoy this season and next whatever happens.

'Defeats for Liverpool & Chelsea earlier today have opened up the race for Europa/Conference League qualification into a Champions League dream for several clubs including #NUFC - while Brentford & Bournemouth have also dropped crucial points this weekend.'

If there is a sniff of getting into Europe, we should absolutely go for it. I'm sure the club will have a range of transfer options, particularly now survival is confirmed.

The SoL should be bouncing for the Spurs match, a new highlight reel of the win on Sunday will get the crowd fired right up

Its not just the financial aspect, its the exposure too and experience for a very young squad. The media team would have a field day.

Europe might be on...

But there is Europe or Europe ie the lower comps don't bring much money, but you still need a big squad to cope with all the games.... or use the reserves?

If we win v Spurs, which we should because they are gone mentality wise, it’s on.

As Smug mentions there’s a lot of games we’re rivals have to drop points (we only really have the Everton game that slots in there, and we’ve been better than them twice this season already), then we likely sitting in striking distance and you’d hope that’s the final motivation the lads need.

We in the wonderful space that we don’t expect it, don’t have any delusions that it’s our right, and that if we fail the season has been stunning regardless.

Imagine us lot away to Sparta Prague man. Absolute bedlam <laugh>
