I also wonder what we're looking to do with Omur and Burstow. Presumably Burstow sold to Bolton or a L1 promotion hopeful for a reasonable profit, but Omur may be one we just have to run his contract down. Unless Westerlo are interested..

Ashbee still very much a prospect at only 19 (along with the likes of Moore).
But, it's a leap from Academy to Senior squad and few make that leap.

You’d like to think we’d have a few
19 year olds that were good enough to make the squad.

I rate a lot of Westerlo’s players. Big fan of their young Turkish centre-back Bayram and their right-back Reynolds (who we’ve been linked to more than once). Haspolat’s good too.

We reportedly paid 2.5m for Burstow, think we'd be fortunate to get half of that back....shocker of a signing in hindsight

It is but after watching Millar send cross after cross out for a goal kick, Koumas on the wing and Akintola play in the Championship, I do think Allahyar would get games in our current team and make an impact.

I also think Allahyar suits Jakirović’s football a lot more than Rosenior’s. People have been screaming for Joseph to play recently and he’s not the best technical footballer but he makes up for it in work rate and physicality. Allahyar playing under Jakirović, counter-attacking, winning flick-ons, running onto flick-ons, pressing aggressively, using his strength to bully opponents etc.

I don’t know but I think Allahyar would be a good option to have in this side in the Championship and on a free transfer, it would be a good deal.

Thinking about it, my main recollection of him was that he was just sat on the wing with the ball never going to him (not his fault)and not tracking back enough. He might fit into this team well as he'd get plenty of ball now.

Realistically though, I can't see it happening.
 
Regarding Burstow, from what I heard at the time it was a cheap deal that was a no brainer. They weren't looking to buy him but he got offered about at a silly price and we snapped their hands off. Can't see it being more than an initial £500k-£1m and lots of add ons.
