Was just looking on Wiki at our transfer business and had to double take - did I miss something or did we really sell Jones to Boro for 3m? I checked and it does look like that was reported at the time, but that feels much higher than I thought it was? Close to 5m for Jones and Alzate was actually quite good business in the summer.

He’s a solid and proven championship centre half, at a very good age, who’s proven his worth by going on to be a mainstay in the leagues best defence, at least until his injury around Christmas time. I always felt he was very underrated here and £3m was a fair price all day long. A rare bit of great business for both clubs, we got a solid fee for a player in a position which we are stacked with quality and they’ve got a really good dependable player.

He’s also been injured ages for them, something he never was here. On that basis it was an even better deal. Ajayi is better when fit, Egan a better defender but not as good on the ball imo

His goal aside, I think Egan has been ****e for a while now. Not great on the ball but even his defensive performances have been dodgy recently. Not physically dominant, slow and always out of position.

and as I said earlier, we made a mistake in not taking good money for him.... wasn't it West Ham...?

He'll be playing second fiddle to Seyi shortly

I'm suprised the club let the CFO discuss this type of thing on forums? I'm guessing that's your new role as you know all the goings on with finances at the club
What a strange post. Multiple journalists from Ipswich confirmed no interest. At no point did baz or anyone suggest we rejected a bid for Egan. They reported an enquiry and nothing more.
