Wissa is a player we can probably add to that.. No 9? I'm struggling to think of a worse Newcastle no 9.....let's just remember we had Cisse and Ba under Mike Ashley's Newcastle...

I appreciate Wissa could bang in a few over the next few years, but until he does it is what it is.
Pringle, Reilly, Cunningham to name 3 without breaking a sweat but you go on.

Plenty on here will list worse NUFC number nine’s.
I think Wissa will do fine but won’t be another Isak.

How many goals did they score? Cunningham seems in the territory.

Pringle 46 goals in 98

Reilly 10 goals in 31

Cunningham 6 in 51

Wissa 1 in 11

I hope so.

I'm actually beginning to think the way Newcastle are trying to play and the mood of the squad is the biggest issue. They all looked absolutely miserable.. Not one player I saw smile yesterday at any point.

Who the hell is Pringle ?
Is this not Frank Pingel you talk about
Who scored 1 goal in 14 matches ?
Played as a number 8 to Mirandinha who was number 9

By the way, I have seen ALL of Pingles Newcastle goals <laugh>

If you are looking for a number 9 who was bad, you need to look no further than Joelinton who scored only 6 goals in 69 games in that position

He’s my auto correct. <laugh>

Poor game all round. Not one player shone today. We put in 2/3 exceptional crosses and that's it.

Defensively we were sound. I'm even getting more confident with Pope's kicking.

Throw whatever budget we have on a creative central attacking midfielder. Someone who can unpick the low block.

Pa.

Howe In!
We could sign prime De Bruyne today and it wouldnt make a difference. Howe will not play with an attacking midfielder, if he would then he should try Gordon or Wolt in that position.

Is Howe arrogant or just incompetent? He has his 433, his set subs and that's it. Does he know that it's the best set-up for the players he has and everyone else is wrong, or does he just not know what else to do tactically or formation wise?

I just think Howe and the club wants to go possession based boring football and the players aren't enjoying themselves.

The best football is one touch passing, two touches if you must, that's what opens teams up as they can't reorganise in time. We however take loads of touches, pass it to someone else, he takes about half an hour on the ball before passing to someone else, and we wonder why we don't create anything.

Its all very fine margins. Score 1 goal yesterday and we would have been fifth in the League. But what does EH know in comparison to the experts on here. <laugh>

This is true, the league is a strange one. That said, Wolves have been dire and for all Eddie's wisdom why we stuck with 433 that match is beyond me. It's not like 4-4-2 is an alien concept, just haul Tonali off, stick Wissa on and see if two up top can get a goal.
