Their owners took a gamble, they thought with Guehi they could qualify for Europe and then Glasner would stay on longer. Things have changed now. Chances of Palace making Europe as slim and Glasner isn't going to stay (he probably never was as there was always likely something better to pop up).It was Glasner who spat his dummy out and threatened to resign if the Guehi to Liverpool deal went ahead. The same Glasner who might be the next Man United manager. He is now saying that City can have him if they stump up the money. Glasner is a manager I dislike a lot
So now they're desperate to make some money off Guehi while they can (cause there wont be any European money to offset his loss) and Glasner doesn't care anymore cause he's already started thinking about his next job.
It was naive of the Palace owners, letting a wantaway manager dictate terms of a transfer cause he gave them lofty dreams, instead of being pragmatic.
