Finally are we all SR out?

I have nothing against Dragan Solak personally, but his ownership has been a total disaster as a result of the trust he has placed in people like Ankersen, Kraft, and now Spors.

Please find someone else to buy our club while it’s still worth something.

I'm well past the point of not putting any blame on Dragan tbh.

The fish rots from the head.

I Will start by saying that I rarely go to games these days due to working six out of seven Saturdays between 09.00 and 16.15 and more often than not Saints are away on my Saturday off. I also work every other Sunday so it does make games extremely difficult for me to get to these days but I did go a lot back in the day. I feel that because I don't get the chance to go much I have no right to criticize the likes of Lincs or Tom etc etc for venting their anger and disappointment but that doesn't mean I don't care about the club. I really admire all you guys and gals who pay their hard earned cash to watch Saints home and away which over the past couple of years can only be discribed as diabolical so hats of to you guys for perservering. I was thinking about our situation with SR and I can really understand the dislike for them. I would suggest however to think long and hard about trying to get them out because they have invested a lot of money in the club but they really do need to stop making stupid mistake after stupid mistake. The worry for me is if they do go we may end up with owners who put us in a Sheff Wed like position. At least with SR we know where we stand and a lot less likely to be in that position. I have been a fan of this club for over 45 years man and boy. Apart from about 15 years ( and I am being generous here) of good times with McMenemy, Adkins,Pochettino and Koeman the remaining 30 years have basically been what we are going through now surviving relegation often on the last day of the season but I do feel the players used to care more in those days. I know most of that was in the top flight but If we didn' t have certain MLT relegation would of undoubtedly happend a lot sooner. We should be competing with the likes of Bompey in the top flight but it only takes a couple of bad player investments and they will be back in our position. We could end up with a multi billionaire owners but they will still only be able to spend what the club earns. Until the gulf between the top 6 and the rest of the teams in the Prem is sorted out to make it fair and competitive which we all know won't happen nothing is going to change. I would much rather be in our position now than have no club. Getting SR out is a huge gamble.

Problem is the poll is inherently flawed.

We'll all vote for him being a genius regardless of actual belief of the existence of said genius* as no one in their right mind is going to say SR are great owners....

* willing to be tattooed by another fan is evidence of some level of abnormal mental state.

The poll is perfect and accurate, just like it's creator :emoticon-0165-muscl

Interesting post on saintsweb about SR and the new assistant manager:

“This is so random it’s barely believable. Garner inherited a rovers team that was flying under Graham Cloughlan and immediately turned it to **** by trying to convert talent-constrained league 1 players into russball-style passing maestros overnight. He won 1 of his 12 games in that first season. And the 1 was pretty miraculous.

So why on earth are we plucking this no-hoper away from coaching children in Ghana to bring him in at a level which is well above the level at which he’s previously been an abject failure? Definitely an Ankersen move. Right to Dream is run by Fleming Pederson (part of the hierarchy at Nordsjælland in Denmark which like RTD is part of the Mansour Group). Pederson spent some time as “head of football philosophy” at Brentford, and guess who appointed him to that job…

Another cracking appointment

Yep, pretty much. Mate who is a home-and-away Charlton fan said that he came in there and tried to get them playing total football, heavy possession, out from the back, working with academy lads etc. He actually started off pretty well, but then hit a bad patch and couldn't recover from it. They then entered advanced takeover talks and he was cleared out for the new owners to bring in Dean Holden (a very different hire which also didn't go too well)

Will be interesting to see season ticket prices next season. Without a decent reduction I foresee a good chunk not renewing.

Isn't this said every year incorrectly?

Well they did drop this year just not that significantly. Still think the skates was a factor tbh.

I do think with how much of the fanbase have now turned against the ownership a lot more will drop the season ticket if we finish mid table and prices are still £500+.

Exactly my point, there will be an element of PL drop off but a huge percentage of ST owning fans will probably prefer us being a big fish than getting battered each week.

Also not sure I agree on the Pompey front. I'm 32 and we have played them at most a handful of times that I have any memory of. It's not really that big of a deal to the majority of people I know and interact with in real life.

On your first point I tend to agree, but if this season peters out into nothing as is looking fairly likely then we'll lose that big fish feel.

I just think that with large numbers of fans turning against the ownership and another promotion not looking likely we'll see 2-3k drop off. Only time will tell ultimately and hopefully they read the room and drop the prices anyway, I was pissed off about this season's and only renewed for personal reasons.

On the latter point it's clearly more than a handful, we played them 6 times in the two seasons both were in the PL alone. I personally know of two people who only renewed so they could get tickets for Fratton and are cùrrently planning on not bothering next season.

Really good article and I can't help but draw comparison with SR and Saints. This quote in particular;

"If coaches were once chefs, they are now more akin to Deliveroo drivers: not really responsible for the food, but still ultimately answerable if it arrives cold or leaks out of the box."
