Was doing my head in. Why can't they just keep a wide shot on the game? Cutting to close-ups every 10 seconds (and that is no exaggeration), even when the game was going on and they'd cut back to the main shot and the ball had gone from one end of the pitch to the other. Camera work all over the place, the effects microphones were clearly all up the Fratton End too. BBC is ****ing **** at sports these days.
Same coverage was used over in Australia, cant tell you how many times i was shouting at the t.v !! I also had to endure the worst commentary ever!
I thought it was appalling too. When they were showing the replay of their goal and the flag came up on the screen I wanted to see what had happened!
Half the problem is that the camera angles in that sh1thole are more like non league setups rather than a championship club.
Do they all still have dangling wires that look like they might spark and blow up at any time? Utter dive that place.
All the decent staff have long buggered off to work for Sky. BBC left with the dregs and probably some arty-farty director who thinks a close up of the back of a players head for 30 seconds gives the viewers "something to engage with" if the beeb can't cover a simple game of football, then the Olympics is going to be a ****ing mess. Expect a close up shot of the British athlete in 8th as Usain Bolt breaks the 100m world record.
I didn't really notice it in the first half, but boy was it awful in the second half. Time and time again the ball was in play, and yet they were showing something else.
Maybe Southampton's position in the table flatters them. At christmas the table doesn't lie you waste of a ****. Even Claridge the pompey legend vehemently denied it and ffs guly that's not the first time you've chickened out. Overall it was dissapointing however the set piece was there only hope and they used it well as did we. You can get 5 years for less than lallana did to halford today and it seems the dirty tactics from L1 are back.
