The "L1 dirty tactics" were so bad that there were all of 2 bookings, and one, or both of those were tenuous. Referee generally had a good game, he let the play go and was right on several occasions when awarding kicks after initially letting play go on for the posiblity of advantage, blowing when there was none. There was so much hype, this game was never going to be a classic, I will not deny Pompey deserved their point, but, they were never in with a monkeys chance of a win.

BBC have little practice covering football. Some producers are would-be arty types. I watched one tennis match being played in America and the director liked different angles at all times during live play...I ended up screaming at the TV, only one way to cover tennis..behind the person receiving service..all other shots are for replays. Sky have sports coverage sewn up.

The formula is camera in the stand opposite the dugout (or up a tree in the case of Portsmouth), following the action end to end. Alternative angles and close ups are saved for replays and breaks in play respectively.

Not only was the camera work appalling, but also the commentary. The BBC could only talk about Pompey (ex PL) players. Little if any pre-match homework done on the Saints team. BBC - you were PATHETIC!!

Talking of close ups it wasnt just on the pitch.

it was if there is only one pompey fan - the number of times we saw that smelly c*nt Westood with his stupid ****ing bell, bugle and stupid hat.

Typical bbc - see him as a legend.

Whole coverage was a total farce. Only good bit was at the end when all you could hear was the saints fans acknowledging Claridge in the most appropriate way!!

Totally agree Fran - must be so annoying for the majority of their supporters when all the cameraman wants to do is find him in the crowd. There are other pompey supporters in the world as well, at least another 20.

Glad he is not associated with us.

Watching in the pub, I didn't pay much attention to the commentary or the build up/half time talk. Doing the football league show, you'd think a the very least that Steve Claridge would have plenty to say. Obviously not. Alan Shearer is boring enough on MOTD when he does know the first thing about the players he's watching.

Pretty amusing too them cutting to that fat, ugly bastard Westwood when even most skates dislike him.

Crap coverage from BBC.
1-The programme only started 12mins before the match!
2-There was hardly any of the pre match movie that Sky make.
3-No line ups before the match.
4-Camera was all over the place
5-The image blurred sometimes!
6-Should of had the sexy Gaby Logan on there!:)

going well till 6.

7. commentators were ****.
8. Presenters were twats.
9. Close up of Kitson every 5mins made me feel sick.

Why is Alan Shearer the only one they could find to give the Saints perspective, He left us for Blackburn, money and on to much better things - no problem with that but...
He slated us on MOTD soon after he left us saying all we had was MLT and he would be gone soon, I knew a few players in that age group and it seem AS was very very jealous on MLT and could not wait to get out of his shadow. Have never heard him say a good word for Saints.

Claridge was more positive about us and that's saying something.
