A difficult one to call, it could be an ''after the lord mayor's show'' sort of game, both sides had excellent results and performances mid-week, so might be a 0-0 game. I wouldn't sniff at a point.

I can see Ndala starting with Millar on the bench, who looked out on his feet after the game, or Joseph on the left and Destan up front. I am not as negative as some about Destan, he hasn't had game time to get into the rhythm of the game yet, but he had a nice one two with Gelhardt when Joffy nearly got his 2nd.

Looking forward to the game though, and I agree, Doc will get a good reception from the City faithful.
Agreed. Destan also seems to win every header which is useful.

Agree with you there I think that'll be the only change (unless Giles is out of course). Be daft to start Millar again after that shift on Tuesday.

Great to have such decent options to come in, even with our injury list.

I think I'm right in saying that it was December 2012 the last time we won 4 on the bounce, and that season we........shush don't jinx it.

I'd love us to break that 13 year hoodoo but a point would be excellent.

Finally they get found out by a better side with far better players, 3-0 and we push on to establish a points gap between the top 6 and the lowly “rest”.

UTT

That's the one, look at the pitch! and they call games off these days because the footpaths outside are slippery! Orange ball that day too, something of a novelty in those days.
An orange ball has only been used in a Cup Final once, when Sunderland beat Leeds. They used an orange ball when England won the World Cup. An orange ball seemed to bring about good results.

If you are coming on Saturday don't head for Boothferry Park, we play a bit further up the same road but nearer the city centre now, sign posted the MKM stadium.
I've been to the Valley a couple, well three, times, been in that famous pub with the funny name, something Denmark? with the hanging baskets outside. Mate a mine who'd had a few walked out of there and straight into a lamp post. Remember we played you away first game of the season 1970/71 and the buses left Hull just after midnight to get there for a 3'o'clock kick off, we lost 1-0, and you had a mob of West Ham fans backing you up for some reason?
Always remember Charlie Wright and a forward called Hayes who was a handful and knew where the back of the net was. But best memory is that 3-0 win here in the FA Cup, the game would have been called off today because the pitch was a couple of inches deep in snow.
Echo the sentiments about Greg Docherty too. He and his wife spent a lot of money in one my daughters shops, which was good of him, they could have gone anywhere, but wanted to support a small independent. Met his old fella too, he used to travel away and stand with the fans in the away end. Top player who always gave 100% for us.

It was first game of 1971/1972 season. It was Whiff’s 21st and we rolled up well inebriated. As we walked up we heard “We are the Kempton” coming from their Kop. First time that was heard. Dave Dewberry’s idea as he thought that should be where we went instead of South Stand. Dave had booked some buses and rounded up likely lads out on the piss on the Friday night. Was doing well until half time when they let those West Ham fans in and we were pushed away from the middle. Charlie Wright was a great character who always got a great reception from Bunkers and always had a bit of banter with the City fans.

Talking of Charlton Athletic, they are the only team to lose a Cup game and reach the Final.

It’s only Charlton ffs. People on here talking as if Real Madrid are rolling into town. We should be expecting a win and anything less would be sub par. Defeat a disaster.

Assuming Maccy B and Gilesy are both out, Slater is the first name on the team sheet. In the best form of his life right now and really making a proper impact in midfield.

Very good effort that one.

Dave Dewberry was always a bit of a hero of mine, City coffin, funeral March etc., until I heard his daughter verbally and publicly slate him for being an abusive husband and father, that totally changed my mind on the fella.

What's the difference between this and the Leicester game, 2 in-form sides for that one too. Why settle for a draw before we've even see the lineup.
We need to be going for the win, the draw is second prize.

Agreed but if somebody had offered 9 points for the last 3 games, I wouldn't have believed it. A win is definitely possible but just happy to keep the unbeaten run going.

Yes, knew Dave and his wife. Never suspected he was like that at home though his wife was always quiet.

Didn’t the other daughter commit suicide? Jumped from Millport flats?
