Internet banking, telecommunications systems, gaming servers all down. The likes of Ring (security systems), Amazon and Lloyds all crippled. Makes you wonder just how much bedlam would be caused if we did have digital ID to authorise anything, for arguments sake you need it to use public transport. No way of getting to work during an outage.

And if this is a cyber attack that’s even more worrying!

It’s all a worry Workey and what’s called ‘being too clever for your own good’ as me Mam always said.

The more ‘progress’ we make the worse things get.

We have car security systems so sophisticated that people are buying old fashioned Krooklocks because thieves have unlock technology.

Once the Chinese get into our banking systems it’s game over …

… we’re destroying the only planet we have through greed and arrogance.

We’re obsessed with keeping people alive longer but don’t have the finance to pay for forty years of care. We fly around the world on ‘Stag weeks’ before weddings that last ten years and destroy our children’s brains with social media that’s ten times worse than the drivel we all post on here.

We’ve messed up, we know it and there’s nowt we can do.

Not a cyber attack as it would have been far worse. Seems human error led all data travelling to one server (postcode error).

Aye,we're lost and destitute! On a national level and on a personal level. Earlier this morning a fella in a 4x4 cut me up at a traffic light where two lanes merge into one.....I was on the inside....he literally forced me onto the pavement....I turned in behind him, gave it the horn....he stopped dead....obviously for me to run into the back of him...lucky for me,I managed to swerve, not hit him and stay on the pavement.....no pedestrians about, thank God! He turned off a couple of hundred yards up the road so I followed him....he must have seen and pulled into a space by some shops. I was furious....pulled in behind him....I went up to his car...I asked him ( very politely??!) to get out.....with the intention of thumping him.....he wouldn't.....starts filming me on his phone. It was then I realised I would be the villain.
Welcome to modern Britain......no wonder mental health is the next cancer/ heart disease.
I'm seriously thinking of opting out!

Praying he realises the errors of his ways and he becomes more considerate of other drivers, and life in general.

There are some terrible drivers about. I was cycling to work a few weeks ago when a lady in a small car slowly drove past, barely centimetres away from me. Wobbled a bit out of shock but managed not to get clipped. I was furious. So inconsiderate and dangerous! Seems like just a lack of patience to back off for 30 seconds - something like that.

Do you currently use your physical ID to use public transport?

Its just AWS being down at the moment. All other digital ID systems around the world have been stored locally so there would be no great impact from an outage since you'd have them it on your phone in a similar way to your season ticket. Also there's not even the remotest possibility of it being required to use public transport (or anything more than right to work checks given the mood of the labour MPs if it does go through).

I am in the process of buying a car and the finance companies biometric system still couldn’t scan my face on either passport or driving licence as of 10 mins ago! Few of our work systems are still down too which is unrelated to any kind of ID systems etc. I’m not conspiracy at all about the digital ID by the way just saying it’s a worry how easily these systems are taken down even with the resilience back up circuits they all have and the more we rely on them the worse it will get.

Audi had an issue a few months ago and my car, which is less than a year old, needed a software update - it was basically in limp mode at 50% battery until they could update it and they couldn’t get out that day because of a similar outage on their system.

You never know marra. Praying you have planted a seed which changes this chaps life around
I respect your view, if only it worked in the real world. The only planting that would change this chaps life around would my right fist into his left jaw, which, when I was growing up in Consett, would have turned his life around in about 10 seconds, with no repurcussions and both of us sorted!

i love the way people simply accept it all now, so many changes happening so fast but aye, let's just embrace it.

the planet is fecked, there are no two ways about it and we are led to believe that buying an electric vehicle will save it...and some (if not most) of the current EV users are also happy to take two or three holidays a year abroad, many are very happy to see a worldwide internet coverage from starlink, they are not only poluting the planet but the space around it.

...and i dare say these problems started with someone being greedy then more fell into it.
