Totally agree. The Trump shooter was supposedly a fan of his. On a different matter, Kirk is just a drop in the ocean, but I fear the tsunami that comes due to media narrative. He was a supposed man of God who sowed division, Trump via his AI messages because he is some sort of Mr House from Fallout New Vegas type, will be using him as a weapon. He's probably thanking the gunman as we speak.
So on one hand he's talking about using freedom of speech to resolve things, and then on the other saying you were better off suppressed and having no freedom? Makes sense.
Sowell acknowledged that under Jim Crow there were glaring disparities. His argument was that since LBJ came along with new legislation those disparities grew even larger.
He’ll be using this to crack down on ‘the radical left’. Funnily enough he was the world’s perfect arsehole when those two Dem politicians were killed earlier this year.
That's what worries me too. I've been watching a lot of political commentary videos lately, from both 'sides', and I've thought if this lot don't calm it down we really could have civil violence before much longer in this country. Over there it could be much worse. And sadly, someone along the line could well see this as justification for it. I hope its not a 'setting fire to the Reichstag' moment- although maybe I'm catastrophising too much there.
I completely disagreed with pretty much everything Charlie Kirk stood for and all his political beliefs… but if this is how his opponents deal with an alternative view.. then it’s a sad indictment of the where the world is right now
I have never heard of the bloke, so I am not aware of his politics, but your post sums up my feelings exactly, Flanders
No. You're a ****ing ham sandwich mate. I sit on the left with most issues, it's not the denigration of a political movement. That's a misunderstanding. I'm not some right wing loon finger pointing at the left. This and Trump's shooting within the last 18 months are not human actions, they are inhuman. You just cannot shoot someone for talking, no matter what they are saying. Left wing ideals, to my mind and why I believe in them, are often grounded in humanity and collective good. Right wing ideals are often colder and more ground in the belief of the self. The left wing wins by with humanity, not shooting people. I apologise if this upsets you, I stand by it.
The end of the 80 year world dominance by the US is rapidly approaching....yet another senseless killing,in a country full of senseless killings. As the ever wonderful Mr Zimmerman predicted.......The Times They Are a' Changing! Follow the Silk Road to the future, boys and girls.....it's inevitability becoming ever more clear.
I also sit on the left, that's why I would like to see hight profile right wing people not being shot. Shooting people you disagree with just isn't great form is it.
I couldn't agree less tbh, He was totally disrespectful to many people and groups but very clever in how he phrased it all. Throwing in religious quips, being super polite and grinning wildly at people didn't fool everyone. 'Whipping up emotions', while ignoring the consequences, seems to be the way our politicians are operating now. That's dangerous in a country as relatively calm as the UK, in the USA it's often fatal. Trilling on about how gun deaths are a good thing will please some people, annoy other people and trigger the nutcases ... ... and there are plenty of those on all sides of the spectrum.
I quite liked Charlie. I won’t pretend I’ve got any kind of deep knowledge of the blokes overall work, but I do see the clips, and being blunt and stating in facts and calling people out on there social media educated bullshit is not a bad thing, we need more of that. You can’t trust the information from the main world news outlets, let alone Dave from Oldham or Chuck from Austin. It’s ok to be wrong on something, that’s a great way to learn. It can be good for people to be called out on that, if they then go and learn. No doubt the clips I’ve seen of Charlie are the ‘funny’ ones and as such the shooting likely stems from deeper hitting things but from the limited knowledge of the bloke I have he seemed like someone who made a lot of valid statements and points. Few people deserve to be shot.
Personal opinions of the bloke shouldn’t even come into this, imo. No one should be shot dead because of their views. His poor kids man.
No it isn't, but it doesn't suddenly require the condemnation of the supposed left. "The left" didn't shoot Charlie Kirk. A person, who may or may not have left wing leanings shot him.
Can't see the relevance of your 'the left' comment in your initial post then tbh. Could just be me misreading it, could be the way it's worded, but never mind eh? By the way '****ing ham sandwich'. Good one that
Don't understand estimate the US. It is badly governed, as are we. But it still has a dynamic economy, enormous natural resources, a significant lead in front edge chip tech, which is iron clad protected and will shape the next thirty years or so, a relatively educated workforce and holds the world's reserve currency. China has made huge leaps, but well over half of its people still live in poverty. That's real poverty too, subsistence living in many cases. It also has a massive problem with fresh water, and an incurable demographic decline. Growth is slowing in China and a vast property bubble will burst one day. The overwhelming Communist suppression of any kind of dissent and disregard for individual choice hardly helps Shangri La it is not!
Sadly they do. My opinion of people doesn’t change when they die. George Floyd didn’t become any better in my opinion once the police killed him … … Charlie Kirk’s opinion of him didn’t change, he claimed Floyd wasn’t murdered and the police were set up. All this hate speech is wrong no matter how slickly it’s presented.
I can sit and listen to friends and families points of views on many of the worlds issues, I will disagree and argue my point but respect their point of view. You have to be seriously unhinged to want to pick up a gun and shoot someone you have probably never met because they have different views to yourself. Listening to and commenting on strangers / audiences political believes in this day and age is not without risk, some of our own MPs have found that out sadly. RIP to the fella and God Bless his wife and children.
The far left has assassinated someone because they didn’t like what he said. Let that sink in….. The worlds in a very dangerous place they have tried to take out Americas president and now Charlie because they cant beat them in debate. Im no fan of Charlie but I respect how he openly lets people debate him, that should have been the way to defeat him if they didn’t agree with him, now he is dead and a wife and two kids have been left without a husband or a father.
