As you know I was happy to go into bat for him and was convinced it was all being blown out of proportion. What I was told at the weekend, by somebody who was heavily involved, is that HT2 is absolutely correct, it is dire and we should be very worried about the future of the club. Sadly this is not going to end well. I guess as supporters we can only go along and enjoy the football but if I was a business I would not be supplying the club. I'm saying nothing more about it as I dont breach peoples confidence but if you want to take my word for it then things are very bad indeed. HT2 was not exagerating.

It could’ve been a million times worse if we went down too. I don’t have any faith that we won’t accumulate 7 late days to football creditors this season so the third fee restriction kicking in next summer is very likely.

I have no idea if your reading of the situation is correct or not but it begs one question.

If things are that bad why not accept a 10 million pounds bid for Hughes?

Unfortunately the usual suspects won't believe it and will continue to put their head in the sand

Looking at free agents (EFL clubs still have a week before the registration window closes), there's a few that stand out:

Josh Brownhill

You could legit build a free agent squad out of those lads that would finish higher than we will this season. Anybody wanna try and assemble an XI from that list?
How the hell is Brownhill still a free agent....Surprised Brizzle City didn't take him back.

Becasue I actually think he believes he can ride it out. But, when staff are left in the situation they are left in, unable to do their day to day and pay bills, it is just going to get worse. He is robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Could be gambling on increased value for certain players then selling..

The fact he thinks he can ride it out is the most worrying part for me, we haven't spent money this summer but we've committed a lot in wages/bonuses. The hole he's put us into is just to big now imo, the only way he was going to get out of it was promotion, but by doing what he's done it's basically made it impossible to achieve.

Hopefully me, ST, M88 and what you've obviously been told is/are wrong, but I just don't see this ending well

I will dm you mate. What I was told was disgusting.
He is like those people we all know living on a mountain of credit trying to pretend to be something special in financed cars, flashing their cash at the bar whilst the wife is at home trying to find ways to pay the milkman because he took the last of the money in the rainy day jar!

Alzate, Macca, Jones, Mehlem, Simons, Racciopi, Kamara, Omur, Burstow, Jacob. That’s 248 first team appearances between them. Seems like a bit of a fire sale to me?
Of those players, I'd suggest that only Alzate was part of our first XI when everyone was fit, Mehlem, Simmons, Racciopi, Omur, Burstow and Jacob were all absolutely surplus to requirements, deadwood for want of a better term. Maybe would have been sensible to keep one of Jones or Macca, but their moves were prob the only ones forced by the restrictions. A fire sale would have seen Hughes & Pandur both being binned off, esp with reported offers in the 12 and 5 region.
