Didn’t they just scoop it out with a big net at bev rd baths and carry on ???

Health and Safety Chazz. Its out of control.

They did scoop it out, I seen the scoop, not the brown fish! But then went through a 3hr charade.

The cynical side of me thinks they did it to punish to full English trothing brits. Who knows.

It was a stunning building and certainly left a deep impression in my mind as my memories are unbelievably clear from as long as 55 years ago.

I'll need to find time to visit them next time I'm down:emoticon-0148-yes:

I remember it well also - Albert Avenue pool as well, if that still exists.

Got swimming badges in both, trained by a very decent fella called Terry Glenville. Jack Hale, and his wife, were also trainers there in the late 1970s.

Jack Hale was a legend
I remember him just swimming up and down up and down in bev rd while chaos went on around him
He lived not far from me

Jack Hale taught me to swim and most kids on our estate. Nice guy.

Albert Ave also had a big refurbishment a couple of years back. Reopened the lido outside too

Albert Ave had an even bigger renovation, roughly £11m spent on it recently.

I used to go there for canoe training in the outside pool when I was at school.

Terry died a couple of years ago..he had a pool in his back garden and was still coaching until approximately 5 years ago
