MELTDOWN TIME!!!

Or time to remember we’re not a big club.

The whole 50m thing is just negotiating. If we’re happy at 40m we don’t tell West Ham that, or they only go half way to 40 instead of half way to 50 to get a deal.

Fernandes is a good player BUT could you really say in the 3 games so far in the Champ he’s stood out above everyone else and was clearly too good for the league?

And finally, however good he is, he doesn’t actually fit Will Still’s system very well. (Similar issue to Bruno Fernandes at Man Utd).

The news is brilliant news for anyone wanting ammunition to bash SR with but I think with a step back it actually makes lots of sense (providing we re invest well)

Probably an unpopular view but watching Matty this season, for me it was clear he didn’t want to be here. His body language was all wrong and I wonder if he felt that he could have more of an impact when surrounded by better players (as well as obviously wanting to break into the national side for the World Cup).

I agree that the fee is not brilliant but I don’t think it’s because we are more desperate to sell I think it’s more that we have cashed in on a player that clearly wants out. I do think he’s ‘settled’ for WHU though seeing as there didn’t seem to be any other interest.
At one point there were apparently 10 clubs in for him. Unless it was all Mendes talk.

Well, Fernandes going is a bummer. I just don't think moving to West Ham at this current time is the best idea as surely he'd have a lot of European suitors too.

Tom Fellows is my guess.
Seems like someone of that kind of caliber (top player and performer for the league we are in) would be one of the main ways to try and appease fans. I mentioned someone “like Rudoni” yesterday. I can’t think of many other than Fellows off the top of my head who either haven’t already moved or are likely out of reach (Hackney and Sargent would be in this latter group)
