I thought he'd want to be up next to the French lads in the French quarter of Sunderland.... Palyon lol
Never ever take RLBs answers as gospel. He always underplays everything and gives nothing away. The bloke said he wasn’t sure if we would sign a CB before West Ham and we signed one the next day. Then when asked about any signings being close he said he didn’t know and then Mukiele signed the next day haha
There was a quote from one of the more prominent transfer journalists (can’t remember who, sorry) early in the window on a podcast or suchlike that we basically had the French market sewn up. With that in mind, despite the Francophile nature of a lot of our recruitment I’m a little surprised we haven’t directly acquired more Ligue 1 talent considering the distressed state of their league.
Issue is all the ones we want are at Strasbourg, and them PSG and Paris FC are wedged I do think there’s potential for more from that league but if you look at where we are squad wise now we are into the ‘next tier’ realistically. We have been shouting all summer for Bakwa who seems a perfect fit, he’s likely the most likely we could ‘do now’. I’d be stunned if we haven’t had an eye on Akliouche, Camara, players like that but they in the 40 plus bracket. We will absolutely have eyes all over that league. I feel we will retain some spending power for January, and if we look likely to stay up we can level up who we target that stage.
Eze to Arsenal knocks Trossard down the pecking order. Would be a great if somewhat over ambitious signing.
I’m sure he just signed a new deal so assume he’s staying now Shame because I think he would’ve been a great signing but probably too expensive wages wise
Arsenal 24/25 - 38 Games, 8 goals, 7 assists 23/24 - 32 games, 12 goals, 1 assist 22/23 - 20 games, 1 goal, 10 assists Brighton 22/23 - 16 games, 7 goals, 2 assists 21/22 - 34 games, 8 goals, 3 assists 20/21 - 35 games, 5 goals, 5 assists 19/20 - 31 games, 5 goals, 3 assists overrated?
What’s with their lack of signings? They’ll win the league again but could be so much better with investment.
