After Mukiele is confirmed I'd genuinely be happy with just one more if its a top quality winger.

Crazy to even say that on the eve of the season that we're basically one player away from me being happy with the squad (not just the starting 11). Its been some effort by the club like.

Still think we'll get another 2 in after this lad like but I'm more comfortable with the striker situation and now the cb situation than others are (get the other side of the argument mind). Will be an exciting end to the window and I dont think we are going to find ourselves under pressure with any panic buys.

I'm confident too and we'll have a much better idea of where we are after Saturday

Not in any way ITK, anyone think we might look at Boniface as an experienced striker option. AFCON maybe an issue but he looks as if he's got the lot and a couple of our new lot know his game well. No idea on whether it's a possibility or even what Leverkusen would want for him but knowing that we've got lads on here who see plenty of German football thought I'd ask the question.

Kids a beast but he’s be well North of £50million.

Fair, most of the others we seem to have been credited with an interest in (Mikataudze/Dovbyk/Openda) seem to be in the 40-60m euros range.

Going to be a very interesting last couple of weeks of the window. Delighted that it looks like we may only need a couple more in but they are likely to be very important ones for us.

I’m the opposite tbh but I think that’s just because I can’t come to terms with how expensive footballers in general are. £40m for Ramsay, £42m for Outtara, £40m for Hato. Forest spending £37m on Ndoye, £40m on Hutchinson and £30m on McAtee. It’s just wild that’s what £100m gets you these days. Those 3 between them over the last few seasons have done nout worth talking about.

Outtara started about 20 games last season and half of those were because Evanilson was injured. Ramsay had 1 goal and just 6 overall goal contributions playing on the left side of the front 3. Hato has 2 seasons as a full back for a good team in a ****e league. It’s just mega money and Chelsea seem to rake it in just as well as they spend the ****er. £45m from Burnley for Broja and Ugochukwu.
I wouldnt be at all surprised if Hutchinson isnt an £70-£80m player in a couple of years. Elite academy upbrining, did well for Ipswich imo. Looked very capable in the u21 win. Has loads going for him imo. Inter supposedly wanted him. Sometimes the best quality requires the big bucks.

Guess it’s difficult to tell when they’re playing in a poor team probably get a better idea of how good he is when he’s playing in a team who aren’t struggling every match. Tbf Ipswich have doubled their money on both Delap and Hutchinson I believe? Shows how easy it is to offset some of the loses if you go for players with high upsides.

Don't see it myself. Potentially might happen but don't think he has it.

I want a natural winger though
I'm classing wingers as forwards so I do want a wide man

Nothing wrong with us not agreeing

I just think we need more x factor players than we currently have

I'm not saying I want Isidor to leave but it also wouldn't surprise me. Isidor has the raw attributes but his movement and link/hold up play wasn't good enough last season imo. He's got a bit of x factor about him tho and that's what you need.

Mayenda was used on at LM when he played wider anf I don't think that suits him but I do think playing RM would suit his ability to link play, run at players and get in at the back post

I half agree mate but i think we should hold our horses before signing another CF and think again in Jan.
Doing it now doesnt seem right for me,

Hutchinson might well be worth the cash. I watched Ipswich a few times and he always held his own in a team not up to the league.

But, £40m+ for Ramsey for instance seems nuts to me after last season, when he was pretty average really. He is as likely to be a one season success as a third season success IMO. Others too are going for mental fees. Some, such as Delap are going very reasonably, but he had the clause in his contract, or he probably wouldn't have signed for Ipswich. This of course allows him to get a massive salary.

I think we've done pretty well. We've yet to see of course, but I think we could have spent the same amount of money on British players and got a lot less.

I would only go for a CF if they arent going to offer something different I wouldn't be

I just think we need 2 forwards of any description to come in as still feel we need that bit more creativity in the final 3rd

X factor players are what cost the very big money though. Every club wants them, even those with very established sides.

It's not likely that we can really shop in that market, certainly not yet. Or that such players would choose us over other options. So we have to hope that one or two of those we have will shine brightly enough. Which is what I think will happen, over the course of the season.

Looking at the size of guiu and seeing what he done for Chelsea in that ****ty Europa cup i honestly think we have an unpolished diamond and he will smash it for us this season

Totally, I could see us bringing in one on loan

X factor players will cost more but our recruitment team will likely find a gem or 2 for good value

Just watching the panel on transfers in background on SSN.
Saw Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U all spending more than £200 million this summer already. That's with the squads they already have. Other clubs too I expect.

Our spend doesn't feel so extravagant now <laugh>

You'd really have to wonder how you'd persuade a player, good enough to compete in Europe, to come to a club who's won nowt in years and will be in a relegation battle ...

... what's happening is actually astounding.

Other clubs must be thinking we dug up a Genie when we excavated the old pitch <laugh>

Here, Wise Men Say is gonna be emotional tomorrow (won’t beat Wembley cos that was just core memory euphoria epic times)

8 years in the making, gorgeous weather, pride in the city growing, pride in the club off the scale.

Expectation, excitement, belief.

Passion, Pride, Wearside indeed.

It’s gonna be a carnival day I can’t wait to get into town in morning (via Stack and the Vic)
