True but Hume was the least of our problems that game. He has played a few other times at CB and done well.

Ive a cube and several firestick and my mobile. All with mango tv on, £70 @ year for everything. To use it on any of my devices I had to purchase a vpn at £7.99. There was nothing else for me to do, no country or yearly fee. Hoping it's on tomorrow.

I'm not against him at all

I also don't think it means Cirkin is off. I think him Cirkin and Reinaldo will be our LB options with Reinaldo offering cover at CB when needed.

O9 ballard and 2xCB would ideally be our CB options

Hume and another RB as cover there

That's 9 defenders in total which will give us depth

Then get - Alese, Huggins, Hjelde and Seelt out on loan as all really need to play week in week out

probably means Cirkin away as he dosen't seem to want to sign a new contract, so he will be sold

Yeah I think it makes a lot of sense. It's a free so if it doesn't work out no harm done really.

True, he just got mentioned a lot as it was one of the rare occasions he played there alongside O9. Ref was to blame as well iirc

9 defenders for four spots feels like the foundations of a bloated squad to me personally.

No issue with the signing in and of itself but would want to reserve judgement on the squad composition until everything is in place and the whole picture is clear.

I’m not opposed to another left back tbf. Especially with cirkins uncertainty with his contract and injury. This lad has top tier experience too and on a free which is usually our strategy with older players.

Mandava will have the know how to help out at centre half. Think I remember listening to a Sunderland echo video and Phil smith said he asked RLB about Mandava and he said he sees him as a left back this year. Think this deal will just be a depth and coverage signing which is needed.

Another totally out of the blue though, will be things moving along behind the scenes in other positions for sure.

    My thoughts:

    - Experienced LB on a free, allows Reinildo to cover CB whilst we wait for (hopefully) someone of Lucumi's standard to join.
    - Means we don't line up with Harrison Jones or Niall Huggins at LB - Jones completely lost there and Huggins hasn't looked great pre-season, I don't want either up against Bowen on that side.

It's a smart signing if it comes off.

I honestly think this does make sense, I think we will use Reinildo more as a cb but play him lb if it’s necessary

We really don’t have a clue who we are in for do we? Which is equally as brilliant and it is frustrating, taking bronze’s advice and touching grass what will be will be

Totally, if we were spending a lot on a LB I reckon Cirkin would be off but this signing doesn't mean that

He knows the league, offers more going forward than Reinildo and offers us flexibility to go with wingback if needed

Hjelde seems like a lovely lad, but if he puts a Sunderland shirt on for even 5 mins in the Prem ill hide behind the sofa
